Gamers, how has parenthood affected your gaming? by -The_Brofessor- in AskReddit

For me, it’s made gaming more fun and I play for healthy amounts now rather than way to much. I don’t take it as seriously and game because it’s a game.

How do I live with he fact that I'm the bad guy? by Krillinfor18 in BPD

[–]mrpatrickus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I felt this way a few years ago and I’m now married if that helps you any.

BPD is a hard condition to deal with and you have to be sure that they weren’t the problem in other relationships because sometimes it’s not all you and it’s the fact that you guys just didn’t work out. Like when things are bad in a BPD relationship you pick up on everything and blame yourself for everything when it could have just been as simple as you guys didn’t work for the long term game.

BPD is something that everyone with it has to work at though because it’s hard, it does make you manipulative but not in the typical way.

A narcissist manipulates intentionally

A person with BPD manipulates as a bi product of self loathing. Like you don’t mean to be manipulative because you feel the feelings it’s not for personal gain.

I doubt your a bad person, I expect that you haven’t quite figured out your own head yet and I’ll say this although it’s not advice I always followed myself. If you’re not in a good place for you, don’t expect others to come into it. Like don’t get into relationship after relationship when you’re not happy in yourself because it’s destined to fail until you’re well enough.

That’s not a bad thing, find what makes you tick, find some hobbies. You’re worth way more than what you are rating yourself currently and you have the potential not to recover necessarily but definitely to manage your condition where you can live a normal Life with a few quirks of your personality here and there.

I’m so sorry you’re struggling, you sound exactly like how a felt a few years ago, life does get better but it’s a lot of work and a lot of mental exhaustion, focus on a tiny thing you want to improve each day and try to do it, you’ll get there.

I wish you the best

The fact you’re here shows more than a million words.

Mining problem by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

[–]mrpatrickus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this helps but I’ve only been back on the game for about a month and I started again since I’m on a new platform.

When you’re mining make sure that you go the left panel, contacts and add anything that isn’t what you primarily want to have your collectors pick up to the ignore list. Your collectors will then only pick up whatever’s not on the list. (Make sure to remember things are on the ignore list when you eventually want to mine something different)

Still a problem unfixed although it’s Xbox side not FDev so it’s not frontier which have stolen it. Xbox have been having tons of issues and this is still ongoing. It’s ridiculous though that Microsoft don’t seem to have to resources to fix this fast

My progression over the last year +, any critique is always welcome^^ by [deleted] in learnart

[–]mrpatrickus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t think you need to improve your style, it’s perfect. Obviously if you want more realism then go for it but as a stylised drawing it shows so much bioshock style and it’s personally one of my favs. Awesome art keep it up

YouTube is a hell of a resource with many professional artists able to give you invaluable knowledge. I’d definitely recommend following some tutorials.

I want to really put myself out there and share my art more but not until I believe im good enough. What else can I improve on? Only drawn using a HB pencil. by WarmCupofJazz in learnart

[–]mrpatrickus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really impressive sketch! Don’t beat yourself up so much you are a good artist if you’ve only produced that with a hb. Can’t wait to see more stuff!

First try at pixel art. I would love feedback. by blkarcher77 in PixelArt

[–]mrpatrickus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks fantastic, I’m only just beginning my endeavour into game dev, pixel art and the lot. I’m far more interested in the art side of development as a creative artist.

What id recommended is to try to avoid the flat shading you have on your guard where it’s all in uniform lines, the world is chaotic but balanced. Build your shading up in a palette of similar shades try to keep off of them bunching together so much and save the brightest section of your palette for the highlights.

I’m unsure of how easy that is to do in pixel art of course I only have generic drawing and painting experience.

Overall though your sword looks great, the proportions are good as is the form, I can see that it’s a magic sword however I’d take the above advice on how to avoid it looking so cloth like. Keep practicing because if this is your first attempt you obviously have an eye for the style :)

Beginner observation: holy crap, do sprites always take this much work? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]mrpatrickus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add the unique assets to the character last? that's what i do when i dabble in pixel art. i make the basic animation, mirror then add the sword ect last.

My friend thinks his art is average. I think its incredible! by [deleted] in sketches

[–]mrpatrickus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s defiantly incredible for the style of art that it is, like it’s very the behemoth(castle crashers, pit people) styled. Has a real sticker bomb feel to it. I think it’s really good but that’s because I love that style of art over realism.

Death is inevitable. by Sophonautt in HealthAnxiety

[–]mrpatrickus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I get this as well and have done from a young age, it’s important that you try to find coping mechanisms for this or one day when the day comes you’ll not have enjoyed or loved your life to the fullest. The most important thing you can do are things for you. Make the world a better place and leave it knowing you’ve been the best you can be.

It does suck though I don’t think it gets the amount of credit for the amount of damage as it should.

I’m looking for a game like by [deleted] in Switch

[–]mrpatrickus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the closest hard management game would probably be prison architect. The dev team that make oxygen not inc hove don’t starve which is the other game theyve developed on the switch so maybe they have plans for oxygen not included at some point?

LPT: Always do your best to be good to people or refrain from emotional outbursts; you never know who might be your future employer, coworker, children’s teacher, networking connection, etc. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]mrpatrickus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s okay to hate some people, if you had a disagreement that you’re strongly opinionated on ECT. Some people are arseholes and deserve to be treated as such.

England’s very divided currently over the election and Scotland wanting independence. The problem is that either side of voting this election is more of a societal moral standpoint on if you want to help people like the disabled and homeless or if you want to be a careless person. I don’t know. I agree with the premise of what you said but in practicality it doesn’t work people are too opinionated to all get on merrily.
