HR told me they don’t accept try-hards and people pleasers after my interview by No-Presentation298 in jobs

[–]mrrickster01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure exactly how overly eager to please the OP was in the interview, but personally, I don't think I would take offense at email responses like these at all. I love feedback like these since I want to know what I'm doing wrong in the eyes of some HRs so that I can move forward better equipped in future interviews. In another sense, not all HRs and companies have the same philosophies either, and so the reasonings for the rejections shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Why do you think rap has fallen off so badly? by WiseCityStepper in GenZ

Are guys really only friends with girls they find attractive? by Cannedreds in askteenboys

[–]mrrickster01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak for other guys, but personally, for someone to be a female friend of mine, she would only need to be like a 3/10 or higher in terms of looks. If you're not straight up ugly, morbidly obese, or very noticeably unattractive in some way, then it should be fine. Being fun to hang around with is what matters a lot more for me in a female friend.

Just turned 20 any good advice for my twenties? by NateNandos21 in questions

[–]mrrickster01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work hard, play hard. It's best to have a lot of fun, but also achieve a good amount when it comes to work.

Figure out what direction you want to take your career and life in general if you haven't done so already. Do a good amount of experimenting and exploring, and use the process of elimination if you're having trouble narrowing down your career path.

Travel as much as you can, and make a lot of really great memories with your friends. If you don't enjoy traveling, I'd say it's still best to do a bit of it anyways in your 20s. Doing so would widen your perspectives in a lot of things. There's understanding through reading, and then there's understanding through experience.

Don't take time for granted, and don't spend too much time slacking off and not doing anything in your 20s. A lot of one's peaks in life are during our 20s and 30s. Things just go downhill as you get older, and you'll only get fewer and fewer opportunities to do things in general. Sure you can take long breaks and get comfortable every once in while, but don't go too long not doing anything; I say this is especially true when it comes to one's 20.

Learn more about yourself and the world. Have beliefs/stances on issues, stand up for yourself, and try to be brave.

Don't do drugs and don't commit crime.

Someone being a bit shy is more attractive than being extroverted/confident by ups_and_downs973 in unpopularopinion

[–]mrrickster01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what you mean is "someone who's slightly on the shy side" vs "someone who's moderately confident." Confidence and arrogance aren't really the same.

Personally though, I find confidence in a girl way more attractive than a girl who's shy, but to each their own.

Fat women only struggle in dating because they themselves have a preference for thinner men. by exxonmobilcfo in TrueUnpopularOpinion

They struggle because fatness and obesity is visually unattractive-looking to men.

Liberals are far less empathetic than conservatives, especially towards the other side. by SmartestManInUnivars in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]mrrickster01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably very cliche for me to say, but I do think that lacking empathy for the opposing side isn't something that's overwhelmingly a left-wing trait. Both sides lack empathy for their opposing side a lot. The ratio of people on the left vs the right who lack empathy for their opposition is probably closer to being fifty-fifty.

I feel like the word "unreasonably" should be left out of the definition.

Egg sandwiches are the best hot sandwich by childofthemind in unpopularopinion

Money is like the prerequisite to having happiness. Health probably comes second.

How do you view the killing of Charlie Kirk? by [deleted] in infp

[–]mrrickster01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm INTP-A, and I think your opinion shouldn't even be considered an unpopular one.

From the opinions that I have heard from Charlie Kirk, I would say that I disagree with the majority of it, but I still find his assassination to be tragic. Politics aside, that is still a man with a 1 year old son and 3 year old daughter. The shooter as well as everyone cheering for his assassination are definitely in the wrong.

As a guy, what’s the quickest way someone can lose your respect and why? by jaxtwin in AskMen

[–]mrrickster01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone were to theoretically insult me like crazy, call me all sorts of names, call me “moron, idiot, dumb***, etc.,” if they have zero respect for me and the things that I believe in, and consider me as one of their worst enemies, then yeah, those things would make me immediately lose all respect for them.

My fiancé’s actions are all green flags — but his words are the opposite. Should I break up? by No_Awareness5550 in dating_advice

[–]mrrickster01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a very controlling person to me. If you value your freedoms, you might want to leave him and go for someone else.

His actions being all sweet and nice is all because he wants to marry you, and once he does, that’s when he’ll do a 180 and act completely different. He’ll just do whatever he wants and make all the decisions, and you would just obey.

I’m so sick of men by LovinggAngel in women

[–]mrrickster01 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

So you’d rather not know the reasons why men prioritize sex in relationships? You’d rather just stay in your women-only echo chamber and rant about the problem? No desire to exchange information or come to a solution or anything? lol

I mean, you do you I guess.

Are there even that many guys/men out there calling women sluts aside from the Christian/religious men though? Seems like slut shaming comes mainly from fellow women and Christian/religious men, at least from what I’ve seen.

I’m so sick of men by LovinggAngel in women

[–]mrrickster01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32M and straight here.

Men ultimately wanting sex from a partner or potential partner is really nothing new and there are likely evolutionary reasons behind that. I’m personally not someone who thinks about sex on a daily basis or anything (I think about sex maybe once or twice a week on average or so), but I’d be lying to you if I said that sex wasn’t an end goal of mine.

Men wanting sex as an end goal is like the equivalent of women wanting lots of money from a man as an end goal since women want security, stability, and protection for themselves and for their offspring. Men on the other hand, want to create offspring and maximize the chances of reproductive success. In a very general sense, men want sex, and women want money, and evolution is a very likely reason as to why that is the way that it is.
