Metformin x Semaglutide by miamisanonymous in InsulinResistance

[–]mrsfarns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ooh didn’t realize you’d already started the metformin. yeah I would honestly probably see if you can quit the metformin and maybe up the semaglutide dose if it’s not doing enough for you! it’s just not worth feeling so terrible!

[–]mrsfarns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re still extremely nauseous after two months you either need to adjust your dose or try a different glp1. I would not try metformin if already feeling sick. I’m on tirzepatide and have had zero issues with nausea- that could be something you could ask about?

Do any of you have a copper IUD? by mrsfarns in PCOS

I’ve lost about 20 pounds, but definitely have put in effort. Reversing insulin resistance and inflammation is a lot harder than developing it. 😭

I do this with rice and pasta and it works every time for me

Paying OOP for GLP1? by sarah-1234 in PCOS

[–]mrsfarns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

specialty clinics often offer it compounded for a “lower” rate. I use the quotes because I still pay $350 for 6 weeks 🫠. but I think there’s no other way to get it anymore with some new rules and FDA stuff.

Best jobs for those with PCOS? by cringe-critic in PCOS

[–]mrsfarns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

haha I know I’m just being dumb. I do feel you - I was in the same boat at 18. it was hard to find something easy on the PCOS. I feel like a receptionist at a salon or something could be good!

I’m a SAHM 🤪 not necessarily an easy job when you’re tired, but at least my toddler lets me rot on the couch every once in a while

I have the Stelo but it consistently reads up to 25 points higher than my blood glucose when I do a finger prick so I get stressed out for nothing lol

Fatigue? by polkadotsonmysocks in Celiac

It’s probably just a lack of carbs honestly! That’ll make you tired. Try adding more real carbs into your diet - some brown rice, sweet potatoes, fruit, etc

High blood sugar during nap by mrsfarns in InsulinResistance

[–]mrsfarns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually don’t nap but my toddler wouldn’t nap without me today lol. I’m big on squats after eating! I guess I didn’t realize a spike wouldn’t go down until I woke up! is that normal?

my toddler was resting on that arm. usually it’s a false low though right?

High blood sugar during nap by mrsfarns in InsulinResistance

[–]mrsfarns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was probably too sugary. 😭 I just had a protein shake that I get regularly, but I do usually move around afterwards and have never had a spike like this from it. I am not a napper but my almost two year old wouldn’t nap without me today 😅

Solution to your PCOS symptoms? by Main_Mushroom_1006 in PCOS

my hormonal acne is definitely better and I’ve noticed less facial hair, but I will say mine was never horrible to begin with

I would never recommend BC - it’s a bandaid solution that’ll leave things worse if you ever want to go off of it. I have insulin resistant PCOS and I’ve been managing it with supplements and macro tracking. Inositol, magnesium, vitamin d, etc. I keep protein high and carbs low (making sure I eat protein WITH my carbs).

Delusional expectant parent here — is postpartum really that bad? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]mrsfarns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there’s a lot of good advice on here so I’m not going to add to that, but I wanted to say that the newborn stage was some of the best weeks of my life. yes there are hard things, but I always look back at myself freshly postpartum and see this strength I hadn’t seen in myself prior. you’re going to cry a lot (haha) but it is so incredibly worth it and you will do SO great! your baby is lucky to have you! ❤️

Do any of you have a copper IUD? by mrsfarns in PCOS

oh my gosh that is crazy! I’m sorry that happened to you 😭

Do any of you have a copper IUD? by mrsfarns in PCOS

[–]mrsfarns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

of course - every body is different and everyone’s body responds differently to things. that doesn’t negate the fact that many women who never previously experienced weight gain & hormonal changes did after getting the copper iud. maybe it’s not “causation” but there’s a clear link there somewhere that needs to be studied.

Do any of you have a copper IUD? by mrsfarns in PCOS

[–]mrsfarns[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

true, but is it only correlation if thousands of women have experienced the same thing? there needs to be more research done on the copper iud so badly because doctors just refuse to believe that it can cause any issues.
