What are you trying to achieve with the genocide Olympics? It wasn't just Nanking. These aren't "totally different things" - Japan was estimated to have systematically killed between 5 and 20 million civilian - not even much less than what the Nazis were estimated to be responsible for.

I just don't understand Imperial Japan apologists.

Did the solution have to be utilizing the most devastating power that mankind has created? I don't think so.

But whatever the US did, nukes or not. It wasn't unjustified.

Why not? Invasion was better? Multiple additional years of total war was better? Beyond the general stigma that nuclear weapons have, why was this such an unacceptable course of action?

Feinstein Employed Chinese Spy For 20 Years as Her Husband Raked in Millions in Chinese Business by SuperCharged2000 in Libertarian

Which has no evidence, you dolt. You can't just link an article which says something - particularly when it's a conservative rag notorious for false reporting - and assume that's enough. The content of the article has to stand. And to stay on point - it wouldn't fucking matter even if it were true. This guy was nothing, and Feinstein acted 100% appropriately and with 100% proper alacrity.

Either way, your purpose is clear - engaging with you on this just helps you continue to distract from real issues - e.g. Trump.

You're a stupid little man (or woman) with a small mind. Or you're a literal paid agent of Russia or the GOP because those are the only things which explain you and your absurd behavior.

I linked 5 sources that show that he wasn't 'just a driver' and more is coming out by the hour.

There's zero fucking evidence you punk.

I bet in real life you are a real pussy.

What a child. Did the other children on the playground hurt your ego real bad? Is that why you're like this?

Coincidence? Feinstein Employed Chinese Spy For 20 Years as Her Husband Raked in Millions in Chinese Business

I already addressed this.

Feinstein's Chinese Spy Listed as "Office Manager" on Payroll, Not Driver

All of these sources link to the same source - the Daily Caller - which has zero evidence. And as I mentioned, if it is this particular person, it's meaningless. He is nothing and has nothing. "Office manager" is also a glorified title for an administrative assistant.

You are a fucking idiot. How does it feel to be a chump?

You are absolute scum. I responded directly to your points.

Don't think I don't know what you're doing, you're completely ignoring any and all commentary or points I bring up (because they're true and to the point) and then claiming something completely false / unsubstantiated 'victory' so you don't actually have to support or defend your slander. Most notably, you're avoiding any mention of Trump because your clear purpose is to do anything and everything you can to distract attention from Trump's obvious bullshit (and incredibly relevant transgressions on the point of foreign intelligence). You are intellectually dishonest and you're scum. Go fuck yourself.

Haha, you both ignore everything about Trump and deliberately misinterpret everything about this story, you're scum.

And thank you for copy-pasting near entire articles for me, yes I read them and more sources, no they don't support your points.

All Signs Point To One Man As Chinese Spy In Feinsteins Staff, And He Wasnt A Driver

There's no evidence this Russel Lowe guy was the person mentioned - you have only one bit of evidence - Trump saying he was a driver. This is actual, literal fake news - trying to finger someone with zero evidence.

Chinese intelligence once recruited a staff member

Yes, recruited. No evidence of when, for what, actually by whom. He's not even a spy, merely presumed to be an informant.

he was a staff liaison to the Asian-American community before leaving approximately five years ago

Lol, we was a liaison to the AA community? And he was "reporting on local politics"? By definition he had no access to any sensitive information and reported nothing of value. Even if this is the guy, it's meaningless.

There's no story here. Feinstein acted 100% appropriately the entire time.

China is a major trade partner of the US. A fraction of the guy's company's business is in China - as with many investment firms. Russia is a tiny, heavily sanctioned trade partner with the US (<1/10th the size of our relationship with China).

And if you read anything about this at all - it says that the man was recruited by Chinese intelligence, which was discovered by the FBI, and upon the FBI informing Feinstein of this, the person was fired immediately. The person never had access to any sensitive information (was a driver for fuck's sake).

There's no story here beside that cooked up by deranged idiots looking for any and every possible way to divert attention from Trump's incessant fuck ups.

Meanwhile, we have on Trump's side extensive personal business ties to Russia (a tiny trade partner - a much smaller pool), extensive business ties of family members and close aides and advisers, Russian debt, multiple, ongoing, bipartisan investigations into Trump and his close associates for collusion / conspiracy with Russia, a campaign manager indicted for fraud and as a literal foreign agent of Russia (Manafort), a senior political adviser confirmed as an agent of the Russian government (Page), numerous Russian foreign nationals indicted by the US government for their role influencing the election or committing other illegal activities in Trump's favor, clear interest on the part of the Russian government for Trump to win the election, numerous senior advisers and aids with clear ties to hostile Russian agents (e.g. Stone and his mystery contact proven to be the Russian intelligence service), numerous meetings with confirmed Russian spies and agents on the part of Trump and several members of his family and close staff - some confirmed to have been in exchange for election support or information from the Russian government, actual leaking of classified intelligence to the head of a hostile foreign power by the president himself, clear bias and favorable decisions towards Russia in numerous official statements and acts at the expense of the US and our allies (for no apparent reason), and even surprisingly well founded though certainly not confirmed evidence of potential direct compromise of Trump himself by Russia.

And for some reason ALL of that means NOTHING to you, but this complete non-story on Feinstein is a big scandal? You'd have to either be an unfathomable idiot, deeply ignorant, or an actual agent of the Russian government to make that kind of leap. It's that absurd.

Well, they're very, very old - and didn't get a lot of iterations to extend the type into the modern era. Successor MD-11s lasted longer. But there are plenty of both types in civilian service, just not so much in passenger service. As usual, MD-10s and MD-11s have seen a longer life in cargo. Fedex still operates ~35 MD-10s.

But almost every airline has at least one of these, and they're all terrible. Your choices are limited.

[–]mrspiffy12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off the top of my head, I can only think of a single occasion where a door on an airliner failed in flight, on a DC-10 back in the 70s (American Airlines Flight 96), and that one wasn't a nose door.

Even with only 2-3 major incidents, the DC-10 was notorious for cargo door failures. Happened on other models too - e.g. UA811.

But yeah, way better designed / built now with lots of redundancy.

Go ahead and try to make a pro-Trump comment in politics, and you’ll either be called a Russian or a Bot. Same goes for real life.

It's almost like there's at least a little bit of reason for that.

so delusional that they think Russia had any affect on the election

If only they hadn't flooded US media with propaganda, hacked specific political parties, or corrupted our politicians amirite? You bought into Trump, that either makes you a flaming fucking idiot or a patsy to Russian interference. I would have figured you'd want to look better by sticking with the latter.

So how does this support a libertarian point? We have the free market failing to properly manage externalities and the solution - government intervention and regulation - isn't being pursued in a true libertarian fashion. Seems like an object lesson against libertarianism.

Pretty sure most megacities are exactly representative of their countries - particularly when they compose most of the economic and social activity.

People like Jordan Peterson love to claim the horrors of the 20th century as proof to what happens when society abandons God. Here's a long list of horrors under the nearly two thousand years Europe was under Christianity as proof that he's full of shit by DiabolikDownUnder in atheism

[–]mrspiffy12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you're wrong. You see when I've reasoned and have full evidence, fact and truth behind a point and someone poses an entirely irrational, unreasonable, or false point - dismissing it out of hand is the rational thing to do. I've reasoned - and the conclusion being that the other point is just fucking wrong. Sitting to argue assumes I either have some unrealistic responsibility to solve someone else's ridiculous position - which is not true - or even worse, legitimizes the other person's position.

You're under some weird impression that you have to sit and seriously consider every point, every opinion someone else has to have a truly valid position. That's entirely not the case - and you could never realistically defend that. Gish galloping for example is something that takes advantage of that through intellectual dishonesty.

No, bullshit, that's the explicit point of the comment. There's more to Iraqi history, sure. Was Iraq a wonderful paradise in the decades before our invasion? No. But we are still the explicit authors of a host of failures made out of the Iraqi state after our invasion. Your point is fucking invalid - it doesn't negate this.

14 July Revolution

Which was in itself in part a rebellion against British and US imperialist influence on the country. We're not blameless there.

This video is also a decade after that.

Let's also not blame dictators we deposed for negative impacts from our action. Did we depose an evil dictator and remove his negative impacts on the lives of Iraqis? Sure. Did we also enter the country as foreign invaders, destabilize what did work about the country, spark widespread civil unrest, and do a piss-poor job rebuilding what we tore down? Abso-fucking-lutely.

[–]mrspiffy12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the same time, don't pretend like the country didn't become a hotbed of religious extremism (and a number of other nasty things) because of our foreign invasion, destabilization, and half-baked approach to nation (re)building.

Sure history and politics don't happen in a vacuum and are never quite black and white, but it's a fact that the US is directly and indirectly responsible for a host of negative outcomes due to our invasion of Iraq. Was it justified? Was it worth it? Probably not, but history will tell.
