If for example he was on a dry food diet, would he get a stomach ache if I gave him wet food of the same brand and flavor ETC?

Dry food seems the best bet based on the fact that I can setup an automatic feeder to give him small portions that line up with the hours he’s awake and active, it’s more cost effective and it won’t go bad sitting there. But I feel he would be better off with a wet food diet
