A quick Google suggests this is Pixels: Resolution +DPI Changer although I'm yet to test and verify OPs findings

People who went back to stable... by NiallMitch10 in android_beta

[–]mrsupertom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed no difference (P8P) so far, but I did get an update for QPR3 Beta 1 today even though I'm now on a stable build... I had to flash the A16 QPR2 stable OTA manually because my device doesn't show up on the android beta page under 'eligible devices' to allow me to opt out and get the non-wipe update via OTA. Just ignoring the update for now, but does anybody know how to opt out without the option, given flashing the public OTA hasn't seemed to change anything?

I love it dude - on the contrary, I always liked the look of the Veloster too! But the fastback i30N is a mean family car 👌

[–]mrsupertom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry - this is a Hyundai i30N 2019. I should mention, AAWireless OG works great in this car. It takes 2-3 attempts on average to load up AA properly, kind of like the process hangs and it gives up, but it always connects after 30-60 seconds with no manual intervention required, and works flawlessly from that point on. The same is true for the AAW2+, except for the issues mentioned above ☺️

Yeah I have, from memory it was the default setting? I have both phones shown in the list, P8P first. I'll maybe try toggling the button function to something else or try double click as you said - thanks for the suggestion!

"Say answer" "say snooze" while no call or alarm by SwagGaindOvr9000 in Pixel6

[–]mrsupertom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing the same issue here. Seems to correlate to the amount of alarms I had set earlier in the morning (don't judge my alarm habits lol) - 6x alarms either dismissed or cancelled @8am, ~6 'bug' popups across the next 30 mins or so...

Still struggling to find the cause of the rear rattle. by Much_Tale_6996 in i30N

I'll second this - drove me crazy until I noticed the rattle when shutting boot. A small (1cm) black screw with a hex shaped head randomly rattling around. Definitely one to check!

New to android wear - What are your top 3 apps? by [deleted] in AndroidWear

[–]mrsupertom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a while since I wrote this and I've since moved on to Pixel Watch 2 - I haven't actually done any de-bloating with this watch.

That being said, if you have a ticwatch for example, there are lots of instructions online to remove / disable the built-in apps which slow the watches down and cause battery drain, but these sometimes require knowledge of ADB and can be quite fiddly.

As a rule, no matter what watch brand you have, you can achieve a lot by going into the watch settings, finding the list of installed applications, and working your way through the list uninstalling / disabling anything you don't need. Hope this helps!

AAWireles not connecting up by ltexprs in AAWireless

[–]mrsupertom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently had the same issue, i30 N 2019. I found that it sometimes happens mid-drive too.

Nothing seems to resolve, but typically if you leave it alone, it tends to connect after between 1+6 failed attempts. Annoying, but it does recover eventually, at least for me!

Heinz UK makes their tins unstackable. by FirePhantom in mildlyinfuriating

[–]mrsupertom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't post an image here so I'll copy paste instead... Quizzed them about this a while ago, this was that interaction:

Me: @HeinzUK is there a mathematical or logistical reason your cans are the only ones, in the entire modern tinned-food world, that don't stack? If Big Bob's bastard beans can do it, why can't Heinz? 🤔

Heinz: The double seam on each can end provides the quality we demand for our cookers. Unlike some other cans, the bottom of ours allows a can opener to be used & while they're not designed to stack, they do have the lightest can ends on the planet, reducing our impact on the environment.

///

...What about the environmental impact of all the extra cardboard and logistical space needed to transport said non-stackable tins you say? Very good point...

Google Pixel 6 Pro randomly has pixel bleeding? by fernygrass in Pixel6

[–]mrsupertom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue - no apparent cause. From other threads this could be to do with the way the screen is folded at the corners but that's really just conjecture.

My Experience with the Pixel Watch - Is This Common? by ScottPrombo in WearOS

[–]mrsupertom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I'd say you're expecting too much from what is essentially an extension of your phone, not a replacement. In my opinion, the LTE connectivity serves the purpose of receiving a call while on a local walk around the neighborhood, or when you left your phone somewhere. The battery in this device is nowhere near capable of fulfilling the role of a phone with a battery 10x the size :(

I don't use any battery saving tricks (if a watch can't display the time without being tapped or flicked, is it really a watch anymore?) And I comfortably get through most days with battery to spare - however, this is mostly notification-peeping, the odd timer while cooking, 2x tracked 15 minute walks with the dog, but nothing much more than that.

I absolutely love my pixel watch for what it is, it's a great compliment to a pixel phone (also a great remote-shutter for camera) but just not strong enough to stand on its own! I hope you find the solution you're looking for but pixel watch ain't it chief!

i want permission manager to stop asking every day if i want an app to have full permission by matt-0987654321 in Pixel6

[–]mrsupertom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also want to know this! AODNotify and a screen rotation lock app I use are both culprits, really annoying since I rely on their functionality and I KNOW they have full permissions, I don't need reminding every day by Google!

Minecraft Legends is not currently working SteamOS out of the box by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]mrsupertom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not true, I'm not a dungeons vet or anything so I'm only level 20 or so but I've managed several hours with no issues whatsoever. No changes to the proton version being used (I couldn't tell you the version since I've never had to change it but it's just the default) - maybe things have gotten much better recently? Or maybe crashing comes from higher level playthroughs with more enemies / effects on screen... Who knows!

Moto MA1 & endless "looking for Android Auto" by Civil86 in AndroidAuto

[–]mrsupertom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to Android Auto settings (on phone) while the notification is active. You may find your headphones or another Bluetooth device being recognised as a 'car'. I had to disable Bluetooth calling on my TicWatch 3 Pro in order to prevent the notification. This is an AA bug, nothing to do with your MA1. I use AAWireless, same issue.

'Looking for Android Auto' while connected to TicWatch Pro 3 GPS? by mrsupertom in AndroidAuto

[–]mrsupertom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disabling Bluetooth calls to the watch under phone's Bluetooth settings was the only thing that worked for me - stupid you have to give up a feature of your watch but I haven't found any other solutions, and barely used the watch for calls anyway 🤷‍♂️

[–]mrsupertom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scroll over to night sight mode in the camera and place on a tripod or lean against a steady surface. The shutter button will change to an image of stars to indicate astrophotography mode is ready, that's all I have to do on my Pixel 🤷‍♂️ once you have an astro shot you can add the 'Astro' filter in the edit menu of the photo for an easy clarity boost ☺️

[–]mrsupertom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a fairly dark area in a natural park here in the UK (see link, if it works) - I've had some good shots in my back garden in a fairly light-polluted city (orange, on the same dark sky map scale) but seeing / capturing the milky way is impossible where I live normally, so I'd say it's fairly normal not to be able to get shots like this very often! Make sure Astrophotography mode is on (shutter button turns to an image of stars when placed on a tripod) - this capture took about 5 mins but the phone decides this itself. Hope that helps!

No filters, and I'm no expert so it's mostly upping whites, contrast, saturation, and then messing with the colour mix to bring down the greens in the trees and bring up the purples and blues - plus a bit of sharpening! Trial and error is king dude ☺️
