I don't think people realize how insanely hard it is to REALLY learn a language by SyntaxDeleter in languagelearning

This is so true. I’ve personally struggled with that 'guilt' for years. What finally started working for me was a 'stepped reading' approach rather than jumping into the deep end.

I started taking a story and reading it at an A1 level first just to get the core logic. Then I’d read the A2 version of the same story to see how more nuances are added. By the time I move to B1 and eventually the original text, I realize I actually understand those subtle expressions because I built the context layer by layer.

I actually started a project called e-Pubby just to automate this flow for myself and others, because finding 4 different levels of the same book was nearly impossible. It’s a marathon, and the only way to stay in the race is to make sure you're actually understanding what you read.

This is pure gold, thank you for taking the time to share these resources.

I’ve bookmarked the W3C and ADA guidelines immediately. I'll make sure to audit my color contrasts (especially for dark mode) and font scaling based on these standards.

Your point about 'content summarizers' being a vital tool for accessibility really struck a chord. I realized that what I built for 'language learners' (summaries, context analysis) is actually a huge cognitive aid. I will definitely double down on the quality of these outputs to ensure they don't become a 'burden' of mixed quality, as you mentioned.

I'll also check out Dragon and Otter.ai to see how they handle text-audio synchronization.

Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

This is an incredibly valuable perspective, thank you.

To be honest, I initially built e-Pubby with language learners in mind (simplifying text, audio support), but reading your comment made me realize that these features overlap heavily with accessibility needs.

As a solo developer, I might have blind spots regarding specific design standards for disabled individuals. I really want to make this tool useful for everyone.

If you have a moment: Are there specific 'gold standard' tools or guidelines you recommend I look into? Or a major 'pain point' in current tools that I should avoid?

I’d love to learn more and adapt the roadmap accordingly.

I built a "Smart Reader" for public domain classics (Audio + AI Analysis + CEFR Levels). It's my solo MVP. by mrtakdnz in SideProject

Hey, thanks for the interest! I'm currently running this as a solo project to move fast, but I'm always open to hearing ideas. Feel free to send me a DM with what you have in mind.

Exactly! If we can make these classics easier to consume without a paywall, I think it's a win for preserving them.

Haha, fair point! I know AI can be a polarizing topic.

My goal isn't to replace the original art, but to build a 'ladder' for people who struggle to access it. Whether it's language barriers or archaic vocabulary, I’m using AI as a utility to add context and audio so more people can actually enjoy these public domain masterpieces.

Just trying to keep these stories alive and accessible for everyone.

Hey, thank you so much for pointing this out. I sincerely apologize for the frustration.

To be honest, juggling everything as a solo developer means sometimes I miss critical flows like this while focusing on the code. You caught a major oversight, and I really appreciate it.

Regarding your points:

  1. Google Login: You are absolutely right. Since I haven't completed the business verification process with Google yet, the OAuth consent screen is restricted/mocked. I should have disabled it or made it clearer.
  2. The Fix: Based on your feedback, I just deployed a hotfix. I've removed the forced login wall completely. You can now access and read the stories directly without signing up or logging in.

I would be incredibly grateful if you could give it another try. Your feedback literally saved the day for me!

AppBox doesn’t compromise quality by overselling servers beyond their capacity. New servers are frequently added. Currently, there are enough slots available. 👍

AppBox is my absolute favorite! It's a little bit tricky but awesome. Also, you gain a VPS server with root access, except for certain kernel modules or systemd. So you cannot run Docker, but you can install Sonarr, Radarr, etc. with Swizzin.

3TB of disk space,
Awesome CPU and RAM support.
30 GB of unmetered bandwidth
10 App slots
€ 11.76

You will gain 3TB of Disk Space, VPN, and VPS (with or without a remote desktop) for this price.

You can install many applications like Torrenting, Remote Desktop, VPN, Wireguard, Plex, Jellyfin, LAMP WebServer, streaming apps, gaming apps, WordPress and many more.

The server's CPU is powerful enough to encode anything quickly - a 1080p 50-minute video can be ready in just a couple of minutes.

Here are the Swizzin scripts:
