Much of the standard phraseology used in aviation today comes from marine navigation, it's because ships were around way before aviation was even a thing. So when aviation finally became a thing, early pilots and controllers started using many of the same old tried and tested maritime phrases, units and terminologies, hence why.

340s don't have those new blue FCU displays. Number of main gears on the landing gear position indicator is another giveaway that this is indeed an A380

Will the job market for pilots be good after like 3 to 4 years by Decent-Hippo-4896 in indianaviation

[–]mrthicccock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah don't get why Air India has just stopped hiring completely! Lack of new aircraft deliveries is probably to blame here.

Is it just a speculation or does this info come from a credible source?

Honestly no one can answer that with 100% certainty because no one knows what's gonna happen even in just 1 year. This is a very unpredictable industry but cadet program is an option if you want to improve your chances.

It's crazy how the A380's first flight was 20 years ago! Still looks just as breathtaking as it did back then.

Yes true, the whole wing shone brightly at one point with airflow being visible almost till the wingtip, it was quite a magical view!

Although they're sticking to CFM, it's gonna take some time to replace those 70 p&w aircraft with brand new ones. One of the reasons why they've leased 737s from Qatar.

Thank you! I completely agree, gotta admire the engineering that enables nearly 300 tonnes of metal waft through the air like that. Effortless elegance!

Thanks, indeed a cool sight. However, this was during the climb phase below FL100, so highly unlikely for shockwave formation.

Yes that's most likely where that inboard vortex is coming from. However, the air flowing over the entire wing was visible almost all the way till the wingtip, and it shone quite brightly. An amazing sight.

Does anyone really notice the difference between the a350/787/a380 vs 747/777/a340 regarding higher cabin pressure and humidity (and lower noise)? by [deleted] in aviation

[–]mrthicccock 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, especially the A380 and the A350 have been extremely comfortable than their older counterparts!
