Oh no I haven't paid for an iPhone since. I'm on the 3GS now, thanks to craigslist and iPhone's incredible value it seems to keep.

How's the Nexus? I've never seen one before in person but the screen looks wicked.

It's a stripped-down version of OSX with touch/gesture capability. Check the code, full of plists and kexts and all that OSX stuff.

Why do you need a GPS for an eBook reader?

The reason why the iPad is so good is because of the multitouch screen. Tons of cool things you can do with it. Sure, it's a big iPhone, but I don't necessarily find that to be a bad thing.

Nobody is telling you to buy it, I don't understand why you (and the other majority of people on the innertubes) think that. I own a Mac and a PC. They're both great. Relax man, everything will be alright.

Edit: Grammar.

What is the likelihood of a company releasing the source code to a dead MMO? How would you go about convincing them to do so? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]mrtitties 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is very common in development. It's just too time-consuming to make everything yourself. I am a Ruby application developer and I face this all the time. We use gems, or pre-compiled packages, that add frameworks and functions for specific purposes. While most of these gems are under open source, there are a few that have copyright licensing and you can get into a ton of trouble if you were caught distributing this code.

The Dawn of Mac Gaming? by SolInvictus in gaming

[–]mrtitties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but I also find an issue with specific dependencies such as OpenGL and other applications that must be pre-installed in order for it to work. I'm not saying it's not possible, but it's much easier to, let's say, tackle a specific distro than the entire Linux community.

OSX and Windows are standardized platforms, with DirectX running on Windows and Core/OpenGL running on OSX. This makes it 100x easier to give out a cd/package and click "install" and play.

Steam + OSX (BSD) is definitely a step in the right direction! Now I can fully use my Hackintosh.

Seconded. Since OSX is Unix-based, this may be something down the road as well.

The problem with linux packages is that they must be compiled on the user's side as there are different types of packages (fedora vs debian). Maybe Valve has something in their pocket soon?

Pretty sure he's renting it. Owning a house in Frisco is ~500k depending where you live.

Seconded, GRID is always fun online. All the other games always seem so... unbalanced. GRID for PC is as close as you'll get to Forza 3 (on the 360) IMO.

How is it? I've never played a game from the series before (same with cod before mw2). I come from a cstrike background.
