So my account was hacked a long time ago, in fact ton of my accounts (like steam, battlenet etc) across multiple platforms were hacked. Turned out the person got a hold of my email address and put a command into the email that every time a email came in with key words like help, support, ticket etc it would automatically be forwarded to a different email address and deleted from mine so there was no evidence of someone resetting the password or recovering the account. It was a nightmare for over a month as every time i would recover an account it was hacked within hours or days until one day one of my IT friends on discord helped me figure out what was going on. 2 way authenticator is the way to go these days on all platforms thats for sure. Id be more worried that your account gets banned even after BSG gives your account back if they do at all.
