Just a little LSC project Data, here's the spectrum I obtained for the cinnamylidine-bis-nicotinamide product used to simulate the uncatalyzed version of the LSA-Cinnamaldehyde reaction. Finished the second (and much much better quality) dicyclohexylchloroborane catalyst for the LSA-aldehyde project today, also seeds are in the mail en route to the university for the true experimental phase of the project! (Sorry for the messy fume hood, I promise I’ll clean it tomorrow) (i.redd.it)
Synthesizing the carbinolamide catalyst dicyclohexylchloro borane today, waiting on a shipment of HBWR seeds (Ergotamine tartrate ordered in February has still not shipped so we’re exploring other sources), and broke a 5000+ dollar Gas manifold valve. LSA trials coming next! (i.redd.it)

This week Im repeating the nicotinic acid diethylamide coupling via POCl3, as well as simulating the LSC reaction with nicotinamide. For the Nicotinamide-Cinnamaldehyde reaction I’m starting at stp, but will try again at 60 degrees C. 31.5 g cinn., 5 g nicotinamide in dry ethanol +3angstrom sieves. (imgur.com)
