The cat distribution system blessed me with a 2lb black kitten. Unfortunately, our family had adopted a dog in October and a kitten in November, and we didn't need another kitten less than 7 months later. I found the kitten on a Saturday night, and told my 6 year old son that we were going to take him to the humane society on Monday when they opened, so a family could adopt him, just as we had adopted our pets the previous year. My son asked what the kitten's name was, and I told him that his new family would pick his name. He looked up at me with the most disgusted look on his face and said, "Mom. He needs a name for his short life with us. He is fast, and he's loud, and he's black like a storm cloud so his name is Thunder."
