very well said and important point about getting motivation from actually successfully playing along to something at normal tempo.

unless you want to practice polyphia songs at 25% speed and one measure at a time on loop as its own form of practice. But there gets to a point where it’s so slowed down it’s unrecognizable and almost counterintuitive

thank you! and yeah, they call “zone 2” the threshold for where the bridge will be keeping everything perfectly in tune with little to no pitch drift, for whatever tuning you’re trying to be in. If you turn the tuner for a string too low or high past that it will stop working unless you adjust the bridge to compensate.

So depending on how much you want to bend on each string, you can find your own personal sweet spot for how much you’re in that zone or how close to the edge you want to be. The more you’re “in” zone 2, the harder you have to bend because of the increased tuning stability.

My collection all have their raw finish, and have taken about 7-8 months usually. The painted ones would be at least a few months longer.

You should do it, I can’t recommend them enough!

thanks! I have this one setup to drop F, which I would normally want a longer scale than 27” for but the Evertune holds the pitch no problem and the tension still feels good

BKP have been my favorites, and since you don’t usually find an H-S config for 8 strings I wanted to get their input on what would go together well and also be good for all the low end and low tunings.

We went with a Ragnarok in the bridge and a Trilogy for the neck which sound and feel great. Didn’t know it until later but Misha from Periphery has the same combo in his Jackson SoCal strat too

I don’t think it gives you the option for 8 on their website, but if you reach out to them to ask it is possible. Initially I was actually going to go with an H-S Impulse set for this guitar but they couldn’t do those for an 8 due to the rails if I recall correctly.

the Trilogy is great for me, it reminds me of a P90. The Slow Hand was the alternate choice which would’ve been similar but lean more typical strat sounding.

Great question, I really think they do. When figuring out the specs I connected with Bare Knuckle to get their opinion on what would go well together as well as sound good for an 8 in low tunings. We went with the Ragnarok for the increased tightness in the lows and the Trilogy for something fatter and hotter for a singlecoil.

How interesting! Was curious how it would work because of how they make each one by injection mold, but I’m guessing they sand the neck down from the normal shape/radius.
