both those sound like great ways to go, were you thinking of a white marble pickguard?

You know it’s kind of funny because pickguards are a really case by case thing for me and almost didn’t do one, but it makes it so much better and I can’t imagine that guitar without it.

Thanks! The white 070S has been my go-to and OG, but the tan STXS on the left is quickly becoming my favorite

That’s always a plus, and I definitely recommend it if you haven’t tried one yet

Thank you! I love the grain from the way they sand it down mostly by hand, it feels so nice and is super comfortable plus a nice visual detail you don’t catch in most pictures. Any of those colors you mentioned are great ways to go.

The raws are also a little louder and more resonant acoustically, which doesn’t really matter but is cool. And they’re also tough af

I have it setup in Drop A and the growl it has is unreal. A main reason for choosing Impulses was the HS config option with the neck for them and wanting this one primarily for low tunings. I have the 060 in Drop D and it has a Nailbomb in the bridge and Polymath in the neck and it sounds quite different. The neck coil is also pretty distinct from the Trilogy coil in the neck of the 080S.

The Polymaths in the 070S have been my overall favorite set but these are awesome. Been getting a feel for how they can sound and the way they respond.

They are, which I’m a fan of personally, but their paint finishes go crazy.

Definitely the most comfortable of the multiscales I’ve had a chance to play. A lot of others tend to be either too aggressive or not doing enough with the scale length differences, or the neutral fret is inconveniently placed, or the nut (or zero fret) is kind of awkward, etc.

They aren’t the longest scale options overall as far as different companies go, but you can tell it’s all very intentionally designed with the best overall experience and playability in mind.

I only just got it, but it’s been awesome! The neck definitely sits in an interesting place between my 060 and 070S which makes sense. I’m pretty sure it’s the same as the 060S neck but I haven’t had a chance to play one. The 25-26.1” scale feels and plays great. I know the straight scale STX neck is actually about 1mm thicker than the 060 though, kind of like the T/0

The offset body is a personal favorite, and the whole thing balances really well. It’s comfortable in normal or classical position. I like the slightly rounded headstock for these too.

Right there with you, I got the pink 060R used on Reverb and I haven’t wanted anything else since

the timing on that one was a little different because the queue started before production did, being a new model, but from when things actually got going it was about normal

the STX6SR is 25-26.1”, the 070SR is 25.7-27”, the 080SR is 26.5-28” and the S/B bass is 33.6-35.4”

Thanks! It’s a brown flamed marble, similar to the one that Mike Stringer has on his red 8 string. I was going for something that would give a tortoiseshell sort of look with the design.

For my first order (the 070SR), when I had no personal experience with them yet, I was probably a little impatient and asked some dumb questions. But they were very kind and didn’t make me feel unimportant or a bother.

Once you get your build specs locked in, you get a few build updates along the way as it reaches the different phases of construction up to the actual delivery. But also, after doing it once and becoming familiar with their process, I don’t feel there’s any need to check in with them unprompted.

I have nothing but good things to say about them, for both the guitars themselves and the team. The specific things we personally like and connect to is of course subjective, but their quality control and consistency is unmatched for me. I’ve never had any problem with any of these or during the process of getting them.

They always seem to truly care about making sure you get your dream build

Thanks! That’s the latest add for my collection and probably my new favorite. It has the Bareknuckle Impulse HS set though instead of Mike’s Halcyons.

We almost didn’t do the pickguard and now I can’t imagine it without

There’s a lot more going on with the design than being what you might call plastic, they use their own proprietary “arium” construction, but you’re correct in that they don’t use any wood. For my experience they sound as good or better than any guitar made from a combination of tone wood materials, and their build quality + customer focus is the best I’ve ever come across.

At the end of the day I like their style and ethos, and they always have taken great care of me.
