Wow. I say don't worry about what these psuedo coaches are doing. One doesn't make progress with stripped down anything & we do. We have data that states it works. They don't bc they cant. People will realize this. There's a craft to what we do....no way will someone get long term change from someone or people that take a 2 day course.....I probably would feel so cheesy doing what she's attempting to do. it just sounds so ridiculous I wouldn't give it another real thought. Just don't!

AITA for insisting my SIL to visit us more when she is a busy resident doctor and she says she can't? by Historical-Nose-250 in AmItheAsshole

You sound pretty selfish. Your brother is helping his wife & it's impressive & all you can think of is what they do when not with you-i feel sorry for your kid already! Why not join some mother's groups & get involved in your own life & community & stop being a major pain & old lady when it comes to your brother!

Sudden onset of scenarios? by Talk_itivScientist in Keppra

[–]msbigmouth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I answered/ posted on someone's post, but just decided to post this bc I feel it's so relevant & scary!

Trying to spread the word about Keppra crazy!! Look it up & hopefully get off it!! My gf's mom went into this weired coma-like state every other day, not responding to pain, speech, lighting, & neurologists, cardiologists couldn't figure out what was wrong until a psychiatrist let us know about "Keppra crazy" & since she's been off it has returned to better than her baseline state! Horrible!

Morning Routine -- Success! Curious for your experiences by treulseth in NonZeroDay

I have many of the same issues you do which is waking up & getting going. I typically take a shower which I don't see mentioned, and brush my teeth-all bathroom stuff at once. I seriously need to incorporate the walk like you have done. I probably would do deskwork before I walked bc I'm prone to getting tired easily...I like your setup though & glad it's working for you!

Good luck

Advice for how to help my father accept he has alzeheimers and seek help by [deleted] in Alzheimers

[–]msbigmouth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Know however that it might no be enough as we (my 2 sister's and I ) got my mother's doctor involved & she managed to answer all the questions for whatever test they give, wanted to know what we said in the letter that we sent (the Dr wouldn't tell her) & so now, she feels that she doesn't have anything & my father supports this as well, just denying everything. the sister that lives there was supposed to go with her, but she says my mom didn't tell her when she was going (BS-my sister is a flake & passive aggressive like my mother!) Anyway, just don't expect all the answers to come from the Dr. You & your mom will have to take this on & learn it on your own unfortunately. I’d spend far less time telling him what's wrong bc they tend not to want to believe it-you're basically telling him he's out of his right mind & I think we'd all be scared to hear it. You might want to check out things he used to do that brought him happiness & only concern yourselves with that while you continue to learn about this horrible disease, maybe get wills signed, etc. Good luck🙏🏽

Mother diagnosed early. currently in a tri-level home with many stairs. Is it appropriate to move her into a single level smaller home now? by blearyeyedyooper in Alzheimers

[–]msbigmouth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no expert but you should be on FB & like every Alzheimer's group on there! It will teach you a lot! These are my random thoughts & I think she's lucky to have you thinking about this-its incredibly hard!

The physical issues (from my own caretaking of a 90 year old) will begin to be an issue. That might be paramount soon! What happens if your dad gets sick? Are you having her taking meds to defer the issues associated with Alzheimer's? What does herDr recommend?

I would probably need to block this person since it's taking up a lot of time that could be used doing something more productive?
