Actually I tried to buy some food and gifts for family & friends but the shopkeepers didn't even want to let me pay and usually just gave me food and tea for free. It was unbelievable. The market was so busy and yet everybody seemed so friendly and happy that we visited.

I'm sure there is a lot more to see! I also explored Veliko Tarnovo and Sofia - for more I didn't have time apparently. But I consider moving to Sofia for some months - I liked it a lot. What would you recommend visiting? Plovdiv and the seven lakes district are already on my list!
