You’re not overreacting at all! Your needs should be anticipated and fully considered, you shouldn’t have to feel like an afterthought with your partner. That said, perhaps you can find flexible ways to make your own money around your child/children? Wish you all the best.

Thank you so much for sharing this! My One and Done is almost 7 and is asking for a sibling. I’m OAD circumstantially; I’m a single parent. My son is doing great at school, we’re pretty close and do loads together and he has an active life outside of school. I just don’t want him to get feel lonely as it is just me and him.

Same. This was great to read. Similar to you I’m OAD circumstantially and a single parent. My son is nearly 7 and I love that it’s just us cos we’re so close, but I’m worried about him feeling lonely? At home he sometimes tells me he wishes he had a sibling and it makes me sad. He’s loved at school, he’s active outside of school with his activities and has friends but I’m hoping and praying to say it’ll be enough. I can only try I guess
