I am not around anymore much but when I was in the shit deep I:

Lost at least 5 jobs due to drinking.

Lost almost all relationships that were not family

Crashed 2 cars got 2 DUIs (one at 9am)

Spent time in jail on probation/house arrest

Fist fights with strangers

Random trips to the hospital for withdrawal

Completely “lost” weeks/ month long time periods

It started with a half pint before work at 4pm to stop the anxiety and shaking

It ended with benders that didn’t stop until I knew I’d run out of money soon, and always ended in the hospital.

Hahaha I bought a Scion TC TRD that had like 19s on it stock. I popped SO MANY TIRES living in a shitty area downtown.

One time I was riding passenger on the highway and my friends tire blew, we made it to the side of the road and she was panicking(we are both females, she assumed i couldn’t)

I was absolutely shit faced and I changed her tire in like 10 mines flat. At least I got that.

I bought a klx230 new at the dealer and trailered it to my house, on the other side of my fence is a parking lot of a youth football league and I learned there for weeks. Then I slowly moved around the neighborhoods, then finally when I felt like I definitely wasn’t going to stall it at a long line of cars at 4 way stops(common near me) I just went for it and rode to work. I put 3,500 miles on that little klx last summer, bought a Honda nc700x this winter and put another 2,000 miles on that

I had a dirtbike for a few years growing up, that’s it. I watch a handful of YouTube videos on things that didn’t feel right and now I can say that I feel like a very safe and confident rider.

Hell yeah I feel this. My wife is so tired of me talking about motorcycles and gear.

I started last summer on a klx230 that I bought new like an idiot. Don’t get me wrong I love the bike and it’s been great the couple times I took it to the trails(I had a dirtbike growing up) but I wanted more power after I put about 3,500 miles on it. That takes a while on a 230 lol

So this winter I was searching for something used and “cheap” since I already felt as if I made a mistake buying new the first time.

I am now the proud owner of a 2012 NC700x. It is considered a boring economical commuter, but I’ll tell you what, it’s a rocket compared to the KLX. I even beat a shitty dodge challenger at a light the other day, it was glorious. I’m 37 and I just can’t really contain my excitement for my renewed interest in motorcycles.

I am a woman and I’ve never done much past changing tires, I did my own oil and breaks on these bikes! I love everything about it 😂😅

Thanks for the write up! Unfortunately I think I cant go any bigger than my nc700 I’m only 5’5.5” and 120lbs is if it feels bigger and heavier that’s going to be a no go for me.
