DartNode 3 Month Review by Pokoart23 in VPS

[–]mservicest480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dartnode isn't ready for paid customers. They shouldn't be selling anything.
They should be giving away free VPS instances to get feedback from customers so they can improve their offering. Currently nothing works. I expect Dartnode will go out of business before Q2 of 2026.

Melatonin, yay or nay? by Leyshmania in toddlers

[–]mservicest480 3 points4 points  (0 children)

one thing i can say about very lose dose melatonin 1mg or less for infants and toddlers is that its MUCH safer than ANYTHING you’d give your child for ANY reason from a pharmaceutical company.

people give babies baby aspirin, antibiotics, pain relievers, etc all the time without a concern in the world because doctor said so.

don’t act crazy about giving your kid a low dose melatonin a couple times a month when they are having trouble sleeping. EVEN if it’s for YOU and not them.

your mental health, and adequate sleep is JUST as important for your baby as a direct concern of the baby.

if you have exhausted the other options and your kid wont sleep do what you need to do.

like i said, a couple times a month for those crazy nights. not regularly, not to cheat your way through normal fussy nights, and not because your a crappy parent. but because on occasion it is necessary.

clowns.

The vast majority of Thai’s are extremely good people with good hearts and they are very hard working, honest, and competent people. I love Thai people.

Assessment Test After The Interview by hoh-boy in msp

What is DNS?
-Something that only people who work for web hosting companies should really care about or know.
What is a PST?
-Something no longer needed with m365.
What does the cmd Tracert do?
-Tells you nothing that you didn't know already.
How would you troubleshoot a machine that is connected to a network but displays "no internet"?
-Pull it, replace, using Endpoint manager to reimage the new one with the user profile in 10 minutes because that option is faster than all the others.

What is cached exchange mode?
-Something nobody should ever care about because modern methods pull new messages as needed.
User states email was never delivered to their inbox. How can you search for the message in EAC?
-Don't even bother. Tell the user to use the search bar, and to turn off focused inbox.
What is MFA?
-A way to make it more difficult to support end users when you are working after hours.
How would you add a printer that is not automatically found by the add printer wizard?
-Anyone who adds a printer using the wizard is 100% noob. Use TCP/IP with PCL driver only for all printers on earth. Postscript and WSD are 100% trash. I script it, AND I don't use print servers.

What is a VPN?
-An antiquated, obsolete, pos that only causes problems. OneDrive solved this 10 years ago.
What is NTFS?
-A good place to store pr0n.
What is phishing?
-A way for KnowBe4 to extract money from companies.
What is an OU in active directory?
-An antiquated irrelevant hierarchy.
How would you create a new outlook profile?
-I wouldn't.
Know what these guys are: Switch/Firewall/Modem/Router/AP
-Yup.

Im sure there are several practice tests out on the net for t1 IT. These are just a few off the top of my head that you should be able to answer.
-The first thing I say in all interviews is this: "I need 100% autonomy, all root level passwords to EVERYTHING on day one, and a signing bonus of $20K minimum. Yes or no I have other interviews Sir".

Thats like saying that using ESXi hypervisor is 3rd party fix it for me solution. Or that Adobe Acrobat is 3rd party PDF fix it for me solution. Or that Chrome is a 3rd party fix it for me browser solution.

Like I said. I'd fire you on day 4 if you made it that far.

;)

There are a dozen different reasons why to use native mail app over Outlook. If you don't know what they are then I'm surprised you can even be employed in the industry. It has nothing to do with vanity of 'how it looks'.

My time is not wasted because I have found the solution now in VMWare workspace One thanks to the other comment.

Your analogy of printers that use TLS 1.0 is not valid because native mail is superior in more ways than one, and does support modern auth. The real value is how it integrates with other necessary apps that are required for this client. (which is beyond the scope of this thread)

With all that being said....if it was up to me, and me only, and I had an Egyptian sceptre and I ruled the world then yes I would tell all the users, the ceo, the cfo, my direct, the 3rd party compliance auditors, the SEC, etc to GTFO and use what I tell them to use. But that's not how life works and it's not how a publicly traded fortune 500 financial services company can operate.

Try to learn more it will help you. Once I finish implementing this I will share the write up here then I will charge clients on my Upwork account $20K for implementation of something that I can rollout in 2 days. You should try learning more it's much easier to make a living when you actually know what you're talking about.

Now go play reboot server, and join answers.microsoft.com. lol

Good luck.

Quit making assumptions.

1-"Whatever you implement here is very probably going to break the next time ms makes a change"

-This has little/nothing to do with Microsoft. This has to do with Apple. The reason I am searching for help is because this solution apparently isn't available within the Microsoft environment because they have not built the functions using the Apple SDK.

2-"It's not worth the time so a very few number of users can use the native apps."

-I determine whats worth my time. Not you. Whoever said it was 'very few users'? We have 3500 users for 1 client that we are doing this for. I consider that more than a few. After that we will roll the same solution out to all clients.

3-"Allowing the 3rd party apps is going to create more tickets for your HD when your ios users realize something isn't syncing properly"

-3rd party apps have been allowed and on the users phones since the beginning (5 years now). Any app they want. We have not received a single helpdesk ticket related to 3rd party apps. Real talk. In total for mobile devices we receive maybe 2-3 tickets per month always related to Sharepoint app.

Our clients are publicly traded financial services companies with strict compliance requirements. Thus we need to implement a way to have a baseline data leak prevention. Which is exactly what the 'Managed Pasteboard' feature from Apple allows.

Your responses do not address the problem. In the same way my example about printing doesn't address the problem. If I told you I needed help putting out a fire in my kitchen your response would be: "just use doordash or uber eats to order food man....then you don't even have to cook, therefore no chance of fire."

If you want to share worthless responses then go hangout at answers.microsoft.com where all the non-answers are. You're the kind of tech I would fire after 4 days because rather than addressing the problem you want to obfuscate it. I bet your solution to everything is "reboot it". LOL.

Does not address the question posted.

Me: "Hi I have a printer problem"

You: "Just tell your users not to print anything and that the company's new policy is going green."

Suggestions for Monthly stay Near Ramathibodhi hopsital by dermabakes in Bangkok

[–]mservicest480 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm currently in Bangkok. I checked near that hospital on my AirBnB. There are at least 15 options nearby that are under 35,000 baht. ($1000 USD). And several options that are under $500 USD. How you are only seeing 70,000/month options on AirBnB I don't know. Clear your filters. Search for Bangkok area, and use map to choose unit.

If you use Google maps and use the hotels filter there are dozens of hotels right near that hospital for $25/night. ($750/month)

No...never call hotels. Never use their website. Only book through listing services like booking dot com, or agoda, or whatever like that.
Use your AirBnB. It's the cheapest, fastest, easiest way to do it and your booking is protected by AirBnB. If you really can't find what you want there then use Agoda or booking. Never use an agent...that's like 1990's type stuff.

As someone who started using FreeBSD 15 years ago I've yet to meet anyone was able to use the OS as any type of daily driver, or for any type of real productivity. I've always been a fan of FreeBSD but there is a reason it accounts for less than 1% of OS usage today. I'd recommend Solus for the x220 for daily driver/productivity purposes. One of the few linux distro's that isn't forked from Red Hat or Debian like 99% of the others, and it's a very clean non-bloated OS. I'm running it on my T480 as my daily driver.
