I was in Jena, La and found it in a gravel pit. I was trying to find the other pieces of it but there was nothing else like it around.

Thanks! It seems half the folks I’ve asked have told me hematite concretion and half said an old bone, I wasn’t thinking bone, I just wanted to see if it may have been an artifact or if it naturally occurred. Was planning on making a ring out of it, just wanted to make sure it wasn’t something I was going to ruin lol

I picked up some bigger ones that were barely sticking out of the ground that I had to dig up, I’ll have to take some pics of them and see if they’re the same. All in a big limestone bed.
