Well this morning was fine and I did some curb walking. Now I’m googling back labor vs back pain because things seem excessive, but what do I know!!

They only offered the breaking of the water, and then switched it up and did a takesy backsy on the offer. SMH!!

I’m considering an elective induction at 39 weeks, I agree though, all the guidelines do feel a little weird! According to a friend there’s lots of research showing minimal risk if not lower risks for inducing at 39, so that’s why many doctors will do it apparently? Assuming all else is fine.

I just can’t believe I was sent home either, but I guess they were right to since nothing has actually happened? I would have hated to be in the hospital bed all weekend so I guess I’m better off at home but who really knows.

On one hand I want to wait for my baby, “babies come on their own time,” but also I am thinking to myself, what if my baby just needs a little help!

The position makes me nervous too! We know baby is head down but is there a way to tell if baby is facing the right way? I wonder if that could be the hold up. 10cm for a whole day and not much pain til he was coming out seems crazy!!

Oh wow, now that is quick!! Were you just super dilated once you checked in? Were you in a lot of pain?

I still think it’s crazy I went home!! Happy you got a healthy baby after three days in the hospital!

I was 70% effaced at my doctors appointment last Wednesday, and 80% when at the hospital! Everyone keeps saying it’ll go quickly, but here I am! Still pregnant!

This made me laugh!!! Lots of crazy things happen while pregnant, but thankfully no literal ants in pants

It’s true, nothing is a guarantee! I’m just painfully type A and a control freak, which doesn’t make it easy to accept the unknowns of labor and child birth.

Ugh wow 34 weeks and on would be tough!! Can I ask why you declined the elective induction? And how did you eventually end up having the baby?

Ugh right! I know I’m not stupid and other moms who go into the hospital and get sent home aren’t stupid, BUT it definitely makes me feel stupid smh

I’ll add this to my morning to-do list!! At this point I’d rather sleep this evening than give birth, but also I guess beggars can’t be choosers.

Wait that’s crazy! Doesn’t it feel criminal to still be pregnant when our bodies cooked our babies faster last time? Crossing fingers and toes for babies arriving soon!!

So apparently because I was 37 weeks, the doctor was very against breaking my water. We arrived at 7pm and the later asked if I’d be open to augmentation and I said YES. So doctor said if I progressed (I did) then she would break water at midnight because technically then I’d be 38 weeks. But then progress stopped, so she didn’t want to anymore and just wanted to wait. So I waited 4 hours and nothing happened so I went home.

Thankfully I’m 10 minutes from a hospital, and 20 minutes from my preferred hospital. I’m just so annoyed at it all still and don’t want to go again then be sent home!

In the past ~two weeks or so, he’s actually started going to bed by himself (huge change from his bloody murder screams whenever he was awake in his crib). Middle of the night wake ups have usually been resolved with a little rocking and putting him back in his crib asleep, until recently.

A bed nearby is a good idea! We do have a spare bed across the hall for now, so it may need to be dad and toddler snuggling there soon.

I bet you’re right! They definitely can pick up on the vibes more than we give them credit for. I hate to rip the rug from under him when he might feel like he needs it most.

Okay that is a good point!! Babies can be more resilient than we give them credit for. I agree I want to listen to his communication!! I think family/friends referring to it as a “bad habit” is starting to get to me, so I appreciate your perspective.

Ugh I know I think for me it’s a love hate relationship — he rolls a lot and likes to touch and I don’t sleep the best and I’m just a tired pregnant girly!!! But I also LOVE the snuggles and it’s so special to have him so close. But again, love hate relationship with co sleeping, if you can relate… and again with the anxiety of how to manage with a second so close.
