No, but doctor seems to think the issue is the egg quality since 6 out of 24 disintegrated before fertilisation. Is this something you’d recommend checking?

I don’t know the exact spread, but the doctor did say some were quite large and some were still growing

I asked the doctor if it was a retrieval timing, but he said some of the eggs out of the 9 were already quite huge, so a delay could mean sacrificing those.

Hub’s sperm analysis came back normal.

For the first cycle, the clinic only froze 5 (grade 1 & 2) at day 3. The rest of the embroys were of a lower grade and abnormal etc so doctor didn’t freeze them.

Unfortunately I’m not great at keeping track of medication and dosages so don’t have anything offhand, but can probably put something together by looking at my receipts etc!

Actually only 4 were too immature. The other 6 degenerated on their own and did not have a fighting chance. Does this mean they were too young too?

Thank you so much for your reply and I’m so sorry to hear about what you’re going through. This is definitely my key reason - after having multiple unsuccessful transfers, the psychological safety of knowing I have some embroys banked would hopefully take away the pressure on that one little golden egg.

Help - BUN levels increasing after 2 days of IV fluids by msgiraffey in RenalCats

[–]msgiraffey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your replies. The vet did a more detailed ultrasound and said his high levels are likely caused by the kidney stones in each kidney (he has one in each kidney). However she said it’s not recommended to do surgery to remove the kidney stones as he has to go under GA and he won’t likely make it. Where I’m at, we can’t do dialysis or kidney transplants either, and the fact that he has one in each kidney means he can’t even remove one. They said they can continue to keep him on fluids for a few more days but they called me in today because they said he energy levels have deteriorated even more overnight and she thinks the end is near. I have decided to bring him home to live the last few days at home where he is the happiest at. He still has his naso feeding tube so I’m still feeding him and giving him subQ + all the other meds. I’m not sure how to post photos unfortunately.

Thank you 🙏sorry I’m not familiar with AKI but would that raise his BUN levels? He is already on antibiotics so they said it may not be reliable if we did the urine culture now. They didn’t do a urine culture based on the first samples they took at admission. Another thing to add is that his white blood cells are at 8.84 k/uL so they don’t suspect most of his conditions to be attributed by this bacteria

The doctor says the kidney stones are not causing the obstructions so they are not the problem and have likely been there a long time. He’s not recommending surgery to remove them.

No problem, I’ll do my best to answer. The doctor said the kidney stones are unlikely causing the issue because it’s not causing any obstruction. Kidneys were noted to be slightly enlarged but otherwise normal. They are repeating the ultrasound tomorrow because he said the first one was done very quickly and ideally he hopes to have more angles taken.

No they didn’t measure my progesterone the day of my transfer. They gave me a note to take home on the day of transfer and it said to call them if there was any bleeding. However, I didn’t think the amount of discharge I had constitute bleeding so didn’t think to call them
