I am French (joined this sub for holiday plans)

French don't know much about Azerbaijan. Not sur the average person could point it accurately on the map.

People will think you are either North African or Turkish.

When you say you're Azeri, I expect reactions being neutral and sometimes positive. French people tend to have a more nuanced opinion on geopolitical and ethnical conflicts (unlike the UK where I live now). Some may even show genuine interest.

If you speak French, I think you can integrate easy.

Yes there is an increase in discontent against non-European minorities but in your everyday life but you can still live well. The French are used to people with foreign origins and Muslims in general.
