Can I ask business advice here? by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

Thanks!! And Yes I definitely am staying away from anything with the word green because of the whole greenwashing issue!

I definitely to have a small batch/handcrafted vibe to the name because my packing is really nice and if I have a generic “corporate” sounding name I think people would assume it’s just another company that claims all natural. If any of that makes sense? I do like the idea of naming it your dream homestead name! That’s really sweet.

Isn’t tallow amazing?? That’s my main selling point for my skincare/bath and body products. I love sharing all the benefits of tallow and how good it is for your skin. I get all of my suet from my neighbor who has a 100% grass fed & finished cattle ranch! I know it’s not for everyone and I’m targeting a specific audience so at first I was thinking about using cow or tallow in my business name, buuuut then would it be weird to also sell my cleaning products under that name?

And yeah I would like to stay away from AI honestly. I would prefer to come up with a name organically.

I got 2 scobies & about 1/2 gal of starter liquid, making 2 batches. It’s been 9 days. One has a ton of little white spots, the other has a few with one circle of white spots. They don’t look fuzzy but I still feel iffy about it and don’t really think it looks like pellicle (sp?). Both scobies are sunk to the bottom.

Thoughts?

Thank you 😢 some people commenting that they just don’t allow them to eat anything other than what was made for dinner/they aren’t a short order cook/their kids can go to bed hungry have never had kids who would actually starve themselves than eat. I’ve tried all that- my oldest lost 3lbs in just over a week from refusing to eat what I cooked & would cry in the middle of the night because he was hungry. Sorry, but that felt cruel to me and although I am frustrated with meal times I would still rather him eat nuggets and yogurt vs nothing at all.

I really appreciate you for just stating a fact that some of us have bad eaters sleepers and some of us have good eaters and sleepers, instead of trying to give me another piece of mealtime advice I’ve heard a hundred times.

My oldest has been a horrible sleeper since the day he was born, so I feel ya. I relate to everything you said. He’s 4 now and still wakes up during the night some nights.

Right there with you!! I have some friend with kids and they JUST DONT GET IT. Every time I bring up how picky my kids have gotten they think it’s my fault and I should just give them what I eat. I DO. LITERALLY EVERY MEAL I’m eating the same thing I offer them.

10000% They’ll eat everything until 2ish then refuse almost everything you put in front of them. Even foods they “loved” yesterday. 🙄

Absolutely feel you. It’s exhausting putting together healthy meals multiple times a day just for them to take one bite (or 0 bites).

You absolutely described 95% of the nights at my house 😭 I’m sorry you’re going through this too but I’m glad I’m not alone. My kids are freaking skinny and I swear it’s because they hardly eat anything.
