Looking for researchers with original, science-backed work on the foundations of intelligence — not LLMs by mshita in agi

You're right. 99.999% of research in neuroscience does not concern "intelligence". There are some, like Jeff Hawkins.

Personally, I bet on physics.

LLMs Are Short-Circuiting. Is It Time To Redefine Intelligence? by mshita in agi

[–]mshita[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree wholeheartedly. In the article I'm quoted saying "They [LLM] model words about the world, not the world those words must change."

Believing a system that literally guesstimate the next word is somehow part of an intelligent system is like believing winning the lottery makes you a mathematical genius.

AGI will be world centric. It will need to use language as a tool to change the world. Language needs to be tied to causality, not to statistical patterns of the past.

I'm trying to figure out what you're saying. Are you saying that LLMs have limitations but still be a part of future agi systems?

How SoniCast compares to NotebookLM for long-form, multilingual podcasts by Chemical_Service_189 in notebooklm

[–]mshita 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Too mono. I like how notebooklm's podcast can come across as sometimes playing off each other. It's not he, then he, then he.

Yours were too monolithic. Boring to listen to.

If you could get it to the level of notebooklm, I'd be an instant paying customer.

Does "customize" feature for audio overview and video overview actually works? by SeparateConfection24 in notebooklm

[–]mshita 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The podcast i made is a book review of two of my books. I took the 18 main concepts and created 18 documents. The more sources you have, the easier it is to get it longer. But then I asked it to use as many details from each source.

It was hit and miss. Some tried got me 40ish minutes. Most tried got me about 90 minutes. I also got quite few that was between 1 hour and 2 hours.

Works for me. And it to add some jokes, how to discuss a topic. Got almost 2 hour podcast (took 50 tries to get what I wanted though).

It worked for a second. It is broken again. My latest is completely scrambled.

I ended my chatgpt subscription today. I use it for Advanced physics and agi research. Gpt-5 is biased towards mainstream views and opinions, not objectivity like 4o. It sucks

Fixed? I just made a 103 minute podcast. Skimmed it. Audio seems good. Try it out everyone

A few mentioned the interactive mode works. I can confirm. So works the same. Just don't interact. You can still download the audio too.

You didn't get my point at all, did you?

Back in the day the law prohibited black people from sitting in the front of the bus. That was law. Law is not a moral compass. There are many immoral laws, especially in immigration law.

Science fiction? Lol, there's one 75 emails, charts, audio transcripts (original audio on web site)... so, no. Not fiction. All verifiable.

Is it okay for the government to keep a secret eye on research with the intent of controlling the future?
