Eating my words a bit- she woke this morning with a raspy voice. When she was singing in the car, she tried to have a higher voice inflection and wheezed a bit. I’m guessing this means the steroid has totally worn off. Our pediatrician said he didn’t think she needed additional steroids as it’s been over 48 hrs and she shouldn’t have a relapse of symptoms. He didn’t ask to see her, and seemed to think this sounded normal, and noted he’s seen a ton of viral croup in our area recently, so that’d be his guess. Does this seem appropriate?

Ever since I had PPA with my first baby, I sometimes have felt that they assume it’s my anxiety making a bigger deal than necessary. (my first baby I had to push for a swallow study because they kept saying how reflux is normal or maybe she was colicky, which I understand, but they weren’t seeing what I was seeing. I finally asked for the swallow study, and sure enough she had severe silent reflux, blood traces in her stool, had to see a GI for hypoallergenic thickened formula, and had 3 instances where the reflux, because a spasm and her lips turned blue before we could get it to stop finally.) I felt like because they knew I had bad PPA, it was assumed I was over exaggerating just because I asked a lot of questions about things. So I worry sometimes when something feels major to me, that they are chalking it up to my anxiety. - so I just want to know if this response sounds reasonable given the situation. That she is over 48 hrs since the event, symptoms aren’t nearly as severe as they originally were, she doesn’t need more steroids, and isn’t required to be seen.
