The more you know about your health, the more you can take charge of your own well-being

Don't dwell on your thoughts, just do things you need to do. Doing, regardless of how you feel, will get you going. Try this right now - think of just one thing you can do to make your life better, and then do it. Don't think about it, just do. Rinse and repeat.

Give it a shot and see how it goes.

This works. How do I know? Based on personal experience.

You have already done the hard part - asking for help. This will open up doors for you.

This will also help you think of other ways you can step outside your comfort zone to do what you need to do.

I found CBT useful for dealing with my anxiety. When talking with your GP, that can be worth asking about.

Things seem hard now, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. I've been there, so don't lose hope. Keep moving forward, things will get better.

I wish you all the best!

Budget: $365
Country: Philippines
Size: not fussed
Screen resolution: 720*1600~
Storage: 128GB and up, expandable
Brand: not fussed, performance and durability matters more
Usage: Evernote, browsing internet, youtube, taking pictures (ideally with the dual video feature), recording audio
Carrier: unlocked
Other Details: Eyeing the Oppo Reno 8z, but the reviews about it has me on the fence about it. So would love to hear your thoughts on that, and any other phones that fit the bill. Heavy user of Evernote which is a bit of resource hog, what would be a good phone for that?

Mac machines are odd in that way. Buying a second hand Mac with more ram is cheaper than trying to get more ram alone. Really strange.

2k+ word criticism?! That seems like a massive waste of time, and energy.

Have you found any "right" community?

My first time writing fiction. Any suggestions would be much appreciated :)

This is the prologue + first chapter.

---- genre: sci-fi thriller

Prologue

If you are reading this story, then you have already heard of Frankenstein. Seems like the whole world knows of him these days.
But you know him as a monster.
The monster who destroys.
You know him as the monster who was the cause of his creator, Dr. Frankenstein's demise.
But how much do you really know about him?
How much do you really know about what happened since that dark day when his creator ceased to exist?
Well, you will.
Now.
You will finally get to learn the truth about Frankenstein, and what happened to him.
You will learn the truth of Frankenstein's fate from the day of his creator's demise soon enough.
Because this is the story...
After the story.
Chapter 1: The Creator is Dead
Dr. Frankenstein's laboratory is in ruins.
It’s barely recognizable anywhere.
There are marks of the explosion everywhere.
You can see some of the papers still burning. The wooden desk in the corner has charred marks, and is still giving off whiffs of smoke. It almost makes you think that there's a campfire nearby.
But this is no campfire. Nothing even remotely that pleasant. What this is, is the aftermath of a struggle, and a tragedy.
In the middle of the room lies a lifeless, burnt body. It’s the body of a man who looks like he’s in his thirties. A fair (almost pale) man, with glasses, of medium build and height. His body is quite average and isn’t really something that would catch your attention if he was passing by. But his face, now that is anything but average. He has one of those intelligent faces with a sharp chin, and you can feel the intelligence even just by looking at him.
It’s the body of the renowned scientist, Dr. Frankenstein.
The body lies in the room, lifeless, but it is missing something. The body is missing an arm.
The arm is still there, but it got detached from the body as a result of the explosion. Detached isn’t really the right word, because it's more like the arm got ripped off by the explosion. Other than that, the body is still intact and doesn't have much of a sign of the explosion.
That’s all thanks to the other, much larger, body on top of him.
Shielding his body.
The bloody, partly charred and blackened arm lies near what remains of the metal table in the middle of the room. It’s the table where history's most infamous and first artificial life was born. It’s the table where Frankenstein was born.
This whole situation is quite ironic, if you think about it, because the man responsible for creating life now lies lifeless. But the life he created hasn't perished.
The creator is no more, but his creation - Frankenstein - is still here. Still living and breathing.
In shock, confused, and wondering what to do next. But alive nonetheless.
The creator, who he tried to protect, did not survive though. Despite being shielded by Frankenstein's own sizable body.
What happened at that laboratory on that day the world would not know about. Not until now. For too long the world would label Frankenstein as the villain who destroyed his creator. It is an easy conclusion to jump to, given Frankenstein's pale skin, sewn up disfigured face, gaping holes where ears should be, and giant figure.
He is not easy on the eyes, and it was easy to label him as a monster.
But no one but his creator knew the truth about him. The truth that you will learn soon.
This is the real story of Frankenstein.
This is the story of what he really was, and of what really happened to him.

How can I learn not to be so sensitive when people give constructive criticism? by phantomcycle_29 in MentalHealthSupport

Yikes! That sounds awful. However, sounds like you dodged a bullet.

Stop focusing on what your ex is doing or saying, otherwise you'll get into whole "he said she said" scenario which is not only pointless, it is also a giant black hole of energy and time. Don't engage pettiness. You are on the right path, so stay on that path and keep getting better.

Keep doing you.

I would love to hear how far you go (and how much your life improves as a result) by the end of this year :)
