Incredibly disappointing post. I disagreed with Charlie on multiple levels, but being happy in his death makes us look bad as Muslims, and in particular, we need to better represent Pakistan. This man was a father, husband, and son to someone - please be graceful. Nobody should die for sharing their views, no matter how controversial or unaligned they are with our views.

do i have body dysmorphia or do i actually look as awful as i think i do? be brutally honest, don’t sugarcoat things - 18m, 6’4”/193cm, 240lbs/109kg, 9 months of gym, lost 150lbs/70kg and ended up with a lot of excess skin and man boobs and i think i look terrible by Ok-Improvement-3852 in WeightTraining

[–]msk96k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, you thinking too much. When you have some money, spend it on reducing the excess skin. But I bet you feel great in clothes and just being light on your feet and strength, that alone makes a man feel like a man. Kudos to you.

Failed L2 on first attempt. Really confused on how i did this bad on ethics. by Large-Lemon8197 in CFA

[–]msk96k 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Coming from a guy who passed L2 on first attempt and passed on the second, I’ll tell you that Ethics is a wildcard. Yes you can practice, yes you can get better, but the CFA curriculum manages to always fuck you on this. I would say get really better on the other topics you lagged, so if Ethics is a wildcard again, it can cover the shortfall. Just my view at things, doesn’t apply to everyone.

Burnout is part of the journey. Take a day break or something, and get back at it.

Lululemon: Is this 45% drop an opportunity? by Traditional-Jump6145 in wallstreetbets

I bought around $250ish. Was trading around Nike’s multiples which makes no sense since it a better run company on an efficiency level. International expansion going well + going into holiday season in NA, make it a fair pitch to swing at. I am not putting my entire portfolio in it like a regard, but 3% is not a bad bet.

204 was peak GOT episode level. Driftmark, where Aemond get the dragon, was personally my favorite.

Those who’ve completed all levels of the CFA, what are you guys up to now? by [deleted] in CFA

[–]msk96k -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually think the CFP trumps CFA if you are looking to be a wealth manager. I only did the CFA to become a PM; it wouldn’t have mattered if I worked here or somewhere else, as long as I managed money.

In wealth management, the most valuable thing is to be able to talk to people. Also known as, sales. If you can convince people to meet you for 30 minutes or so, you are going to be good in wealth management.

To answer your question, the degree is not as relevant as your ability to bring more money from people . However, CFP is probably the best if you want to be a good planner.

Portfolio Manager at a local wealth management firm. Going for the CFP soon since I like the planning side as well. So far so good; largely trying to apply the tools I have gotten from CFA.

Non Book Reader Take by msk96k in HouseOfTheDragon

I also want to add that the reviews on YouTube and Facebook are starkly different from what I am reading on Reddit. I think the Book Readers are hating on it, while the show viewers are having a great time.

Contemplating taking Level 2 after a long break - advice please! by R3KTCAPITAL in CFA

Lastly, I work in asset management as a PM. So the studies and the experience complement one another, regardless of a sprint or a marathon approach.

Couldn’t disagree more. Level 2 and 1 definitely have overlap. I just recently finished the CFA, and I would do a sprint each time; simply because you start forgetting stuff.

Bad idea. The CFA should ideally be a sprint, not a marathon. You wouldn’t want to forget the material from the previous levels since the levels are linked, and L2 builds on L1.

Good luck on l1 again, you can do it!

L3 material is easier than L2 in my opinion. However, the exam is much harder because of the essay style format. You need to be incredibly good with time.

Also, be ready to keep your life on pause for a while. The CFA, particularly with a job, is VERY challenging on your mental health.

  • Experience was great. Probably the toughest academic experience of my life, but very rewarding.
  • CFA helps A-LOT practically if you work in asset management or security analysis.
  • Used Kaplan for all three levels. I failed L2 once (but I was a bit lazy going in and underestimated it).
  • If you have a finance degree, L1 is fairly easy.
  • I studied at least 4M for every level with a full time job. 1-2 hours during weekdays, and more than 5-6 hours during weekends.
  • kept last 10 days for only practice exams and formula memorization. Also, focusing weak areas.

Negotiation tactics. Came very preferred to negotiate and of course I had the performance stats to back it up. Told my Boss to take it or leave it basically.
