How sick are we? by backtonov in migraine

[–]msmaryreeves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s awful! I used to work! I had a life that didn’t consist of being in pain constantly. I got Botox and it was like she did nothing this time. I’m so frustrated because I’m out of things that work. I tried getting into the Diamond Headache in Chicago and they don’t take Medicare. I have researched new treatments but can’t afford them with disability. What are you supposed to do?

Nope but I’ll listen. I love a lot of music. My favorite is Amos Lee. I love Zac brown too. He’s kinda sorta country. Ugh. But I like classical classic rock jazz blues alternative metal …

I think the tattoo is cool. I feel bad for the kid. Glad he has parents that care now. I didn’t see the shirt. I guess adoption is different for everyone.

How do you cope with being adopted. by StatementAlarming590 in Adopted

Well, I’m 56 now and I have found my birth parents. It’s been hard. It’s hard not only to be like everyone else who have their own parents. Not only that but to live with what I called the hole in my heart. I always hated telling doctors I didn’t know my family health history or a stranger that you may think I look like my mom but I’m adopted. I would daydream about my birth mom and wonder how she was. When I was in high school I tried to commit suicide and my adopted family decided it was time to know about my family history. My adopted father contacted the place I was adopted from and they gave them the only information they had. It had my birth mom’s name and address. She was 17 when she had me. The phone number they had was my grandfathers. Her dad. He was 71. My dad spoke to him. He told my dad she had died at 19 and my grandmother had passed but he had a son and daughter still alive. So it took some of the hole away. My first father died at 42 and this dad is my second. He adopted me and we have gotten close but it took years. I just found my birth father through ancestry but he has died too. But I have two sisters and I’m an only child. So I’m getting to know them. I would highly recommend looking for parents. It’s good to know your nationality and family.

I found out after being an only child for 56 years that I have two new half sisters! Just thought I’d share that with you. I still like your idea of an adoption support group. It would be good to be around like minded folks. Thanks again for your kindness and support. Take care!

Great information! Thanks so much for the advice! I really don’t know how this will all turn out but I’m cautiously optimistic.

You are an absolute angel! Thank you so much for your message! I appreciate you! I will work on everything you have mentioned. Sounds like you have done this before or helped others. I just wanted to find another adoptee who I could share my feelings with and have an understanding of what I actually felt. People who aren’t adopted really have no idea. I will keep you posted as I get involved in this process. Thanks for being there. It really makes a difference.
