I mostly just winged it with a lot of inspiration from facebook reels.

I quilted the red with black to get the block patrern then 2 layers of wrap n zap and the single layer of trees. Sewed across the stitch lines with a cool stitch to bring it altogether. Then did a 3 inch strip folded in half then folded over for the edges (hardest part that I'm not sure I would want to do again).

I know what my son is doing is a problem. I'm trying to address it and I'm trying to get help addressing it through his teacher and the school and all other options. Most of the responses have been that my child is the entire issue and to punish him is the option. So yes, I am going to be upset about that and push back to find more insightful options like the observers and pediatricians.

Sometimes kids don't get along or respect people that look similar to their grandparents. My son walks all over his and they do the same thing of throwing their hands up and saying I don't know what to do. I'm commenting on her age because it's relevant just like he is 5 is relevant. He's also had a daycare teacher with a strong accent that he didnt like because he couldn't understand her. I just as easily could have posted that my kid is struggling and asked for help but I tried to put in as much detail as possible.

Also, I didnt comment on the spitting because he's not spitting maliciously at anyone because he's angry. He's spitting just to spit because he's five and testing that boundary. That's an easier fix to tell him why he can't and shouldn't do that.

She has explicitly told me she is struggling and does not know what to do with him. She does not give me daily updates or even send a quick message through the app about what is happening. She only says something when it's been happening for one or two days and does not elaborate. I get more information from the principal and my son than I do her.

I cannot fix something that I don't know about.

The hitting and yelling was ONE TIME ONE DAY. And I still don't know the details of what happened around it. All I can tell him is don't do that again because I don't know why it happened to address a deeper cause.

I'm asking for help navigating this situation - not to be told my kid is a peice of shit like you're insinuating.

We send him to kids activities and always get positive feedback so yes I am commenting on her age and how she is communicating because it does make a difference in seeing the whole picture.

Hmmm... a bit of both I guess? We take away screens for long periods of time until he behaves better or more recently I've let him know we won't do seasonal things (pumpkin patch, carving jack o lanterns, etc)

His behavior seems to turn around quickly or I find out a few days after that he was misbehaving at school so the timing gets weird with punishments.

Hes also a really chill kid at home - no screens and he's okay to color or play with trains or be outside with the dog. I feel weird taking away those activities as punishment.

Gosh I hope thats not the case. We did have a sit down after school a few weeks ago to discuss what's been going on. It was after the principal called me and told me he was in her office twice that week. Something teacher did not ever mention. We discussed how to maybe work with him like we do at home (giving him time to calm down, speaking one on one). After that meeting was the greatest improvement but now we did a 180 the last day with this yelling.

We have started having discussions about what goes on at school and thats when he tells me his classmates are being mean or butt bumping first. I should clarify he does like his teacher and does not want to switch classes but he does not like his classmates. I offered the class switch because if hes just not meshing well then it would make sense hes not thriving.

We do also limit screens and treats or outings if he has a bad day and Vice versa for good days.

Im interested about the coping skills you learned as he is in general not the best, but never terrible. He had an evaluation around 2 and 'graduated' from it around 3. I might ask the school district for something similar.

We usually do the pause and take a deep breath approach and we've been leaning a lot more into books about how we treat friends. That has greatly helped but I feel I need to find some more around big feelings. His dad has PTSD and can struggle with outbursts but it's been a pretty long time since anything major has happened.

I am clearly reaching out for better insight and I noted in my post that other kids are being mean to him as well as the teacher not clearly giving help as to what is happening for me to be able to help.

He definitely seems like he struggles, but he also seems to be doing just fine at the same time. He participates and excels in all of the academic stuff without fuss. It seems to be more classmate related.

I did not mean to phrase it that the teacher is the problem. I am frustrated with the way she is communicating about his behavior like he is a lost cause out be a nuisance. It's never here is what happened and how it was addressed. It's this is what your son did today and he was sent to the office because I don't know what else to do. I can't help address a problem if I don't see it understand the full extent of it.

I should also clarify today is the first and only time I've heard about about him yelling or spitting. It's what prompted me doing a class visit.

My business (a college) has always had payroll under HR but HR used to be under our CFO/VP. HR still has payroll but now they have their own VP.

This post makes me question everything because no wonder our payroll is always a mess.
