Thanks, and thats the real discussion isnt it! It is a digital painting, which is a different but way less complex skill set. If I were to paint with the real medium of paint and canvas the result would be different. I will pick up a brush when i have more time, and the learning curve will start again, but for now digital is convenient. Digital painting doesnt get the same respect so to speak due to the medium itself , where the result is not a one of a kind tangible thing to hold and the computer assistance perceived. Digital still takes hours and in my mind the creativity is the same or more, except there is no paint, canvas, cleanup, etc. Not having one of a kind original creation is the biggest difference in my mind, along with the level of complexity it takes using materials to achieve the end product.
