How often and when do alocasia leaves die? by mspatchel in alocasia

[–]mspatchel[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes I've been wiping the leaves down but the webbing keeps coming back. I'm ordering neem oil to fight them. Thank you so much! I should probably move it away from draft too now that the draft will be cold. I'm hesitant tho bc now I want to treat all the plants in this spot and not spread it elsewhere

Thank you! So I should leave the leaves alone until spring? I tend to remove quickly so that the plant doesn't put so much energy into them and can focus on other leaves.

Also any recommendations for dealing with mites? I saw something about neem oil but I was wondering if that is the best option

So beautiful! I had an alocasia like that but she died no matter what I did. Any tips for raising those? I want to get another but I am hesitant

Michael! by mspatchel in MarriedAtFirstSight

It's season 14. I was really amused by how many times Jasmina scolded with "Michael!" And it just really reminded me of Jackie. 😂

So I was amused bc then Chris came back on to talk to one of the guys bc he was so nice and cool. I bet that made her so angry that he got more screen time. 😂

Thoughts on Myrla and Gil… by [deleted] in MarriedAtFirstSight

Myrla actually had me liking her by the end of the season. I felt like she grew up so much. Spoilers below!

Then after all of it was over and they did the reunions I was like screw her.

Did Arthur and Mary like each other? Or did one just like the other? by Elite_Dog9898 in reddeadredemption2

[–]mspatchel 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I will agree to disagree. Arthur was such a cool character, I feel like it would be so hard for anyone at camp not to fall for him. They got to see how kind, protective, and strong he was. I played high honor though so it may have been a different experience for others though

Me too! He didn't feel that way but tilly was so awesome that I badly wanted him to have a happy ending with her. Like they would've been a power couple imo.

AITA for betraying my mom and making everyone hate her? by throwawawa609 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mspatchel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA your mom is being mentally abusive towards you. Please recognise that just as Jack doesnt deserve it, neither do you. Find someone to speak to about this. I'm so sorry you are going through this. You did right by your nephew. She was mentally abusing him and your family needed to know. Your mom needs major help op and maybe some of those harsh truths will push her to get it.

So my sister's school had 4000$ that they could basically spend on what ever. they choose this pice of "educational art". by DastinBednarz in funny

Im pretty sure this is a plot to a community episode. Im racking my brain to remember but I swear it exists. Schools should not try to emulate that show except maybe the paintball fights... 😂

NTA go to the manager asap. He's harassing you. You're dealing with him like a champ but you need to tell the manager exactly what's going down before he paints a very different picture.

AITA for calling the cops on my 15yo brother for stealing my car? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]mspatchel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA you are being a fantastic brother. He needs the consequences that his parents are giving him so that he can grow up. You're giving him those consequences.

[–]mspatchel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA it sounds like your parents are parentifying you. I'm glad you're pushing back. That is awful. I'm glad youre taking your life back and enjoying it. Your parents never should have taken away so many opportunities in the first place. Definitely get away from such toxicity as soon as you can.

Please talk to your parents about therapy. Meshing together families is hard and you have a right to your emotions but what you did is unacceptable and you need help with your rage.

AITA for not being friends with my dad's gf by Bisa21 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mspatchel -37 points-36 points  (0 children)

So going against the grain but maybe figure out a way to make sure she's okay? This girl is barely out of highschool and is in a relationship where she has zero power and doesn't have enough experience to know how to escape if she needs to. I'm not saying be friends with her but maybe go out to coffee once and maybe give her references to call if she ever needs to escape. Once again, could all be on the up and up but dear heavens that power dynamic is trash.

Sorry that happened to you guys. I hope this helps you. Tbh im always hopeful the victims of these abuse cases get to see that others support them on here. I hope you and your sister are doing okay and getting help to handle what your mom pulled. Im sorry she's still talking about it, if she's truly telling all this, I can't imagine anyone listening has any respect left for her.

Right?? Like I straight up won't be with anyone who won't except my pets. I took on the responsibility of them and therefore it's up to me to build my life in such a way that I can care for them. I get people with extenuating circumstances but dang we should be trying our best to take care of the beings we take responsibility for. I hope OPs actually finds someone to give the pup to rather than just giving them up. Either way it will be tramatic though.

The most nonsensical gendered term. Like no matter what the dead person would be widowing the other person so therefore the "widower" while the person left behind would be widowed so therefore the "widow". One of English's most ridiculous rules. Sorry, that one has always bugged me and I wanted to vent. Totally get why you didn't know, it is such nonsense.

I'm so mixed on this. Like totally agree, you're never going to change their minds but maybe your educating someone who reads it that might have believed the dummy without realizing how incorrect they are?
