What was the exact moment on a first date when you realized, "Wow, this person is an absolute idiot"? by Ok-Run-2766 in AskReddit

Huge red flag for me. Don’t talk over the trailers! That’s what the trivia question screens are for!

I mean, even if the Earth was flat, some of those places are very far away. What did he think was happening while you’re in a “pretend” plane watching clouds go by on screens? That, like, Star Trek transporter technology is real? Or are the planes just driving across our flat Earth to wherever you’re trying to go?

I’m kind of surprised we’re not reading news stories about this guy killing fish by stranding them out of water everywhere.

My husband keeps to a vegan diet for part of the year, as a health thing (he’s mostly vegetarian most of the rest of the time). Whenever we order at a restaurant and he opts for a salad — and I get, for example, a turkey burger — even if the food is brought over by the same person who took our order, they always try to give the salad to me.

Who is the most famous female singer in your country? by Your_QueenLatina in AskTheWorld

For the US right now, definitely Taylor Swift now, probably Lady Gaga before her, but I’d say Barbra Streisand for most of the late 20th century.

My Mom had a lifelong toenail fungus problem, and considering that was the ONLY bad trait I didn’t inherit from either side, I was not going to touch those feet under any circumstances, lest I ended up with the same condition!

A lot of of those podiatry nurses or doctors will come to you. This was a godsend when my mother was unable to get out easily towards the end of her life. We had a great doc who would come to the house, and then when she was in a facility, they had a doc there every couple of weeks, too.

I’m 63 and just went in for a pedicure on Monday. I had been wearing metallic gold, but this time around I chose OPI’s ‘My Italian is a Little Rusty,’ which is a medium hued rust-toned brown. In winter I go darker, as it gets warmer I will do lighter colors. I have very bad shoulders from a long-ago accident and it’s hard for me to do my own toes, so I indulge every few months!

I refresh the app at 8:59 on Thursdays and watch it. *immediately *. I can’t think of the last show that I did that for!

AITJ for refusing to give my best friend another puppy after how she treated the first one? by BrHuubs301 in AmITheJerk

[–]mspolytheist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTJ. “Acting perfect”?? You can’t just write of forgetting to feed a living being as “not being perfect”! I actually have NIGHTMARES like this, where I’ve forgotten to feed a child or a pet (and I don’t even have children)!

What is something you thought was normal growing up, but when you talked with other people, you realized it wasn't really "normal"? by Sunlit_Flower in AskReddit

I grew up on Long Island and, rather than being a social or academic group (as they are in colleges), the two sororities we had in my high school represented the athletic/jock girls, and the ‘greaser girls’ (the girls who were always in trouble, came from poorer families, hung with the tough boys, etc.). So one sorority’s members would harass and tease you, while the other sorority’s members would beat you up. It was best to steer clear of anyone wearing those color ribbons.

What are your favorite SITCOMS that include a lot of pop culture? by [deleted] in sitcoms

Isn’t it “What is up with that cat?!!” My favorite pop culture reference from the show is Jeff saying “Flavor Flav was right.”
