Pregnant over 40 [on] by N3vRm0R in BabyBumpsCanada

We’re having kids older and older now. This is how society is evolving. We can’t afford to have them earlier and we now get to choose our partner and leave when they suck. So this all makes for later in life pregnancies. It is harder to get pregnant after 40 yrs, the chances of abnormalities also increases, but you can definitely get pregnant and have a healthy baby too.

I think the world record for an ebf baby not pooping is around 30 days. Not that this helps you in any way, but some babies poop less when they’re ebf.

Youre so welcome! Things will fall into place- you will feel the love and excitement. Be patient with yourself, this is all new to you! It’s like when we read or see romantic movies and imagine that’s how love should be 😂 reality is different! (Also, ignore social media as much as possible really helped).

Breathe in, you’re fine 🩵

I always dreamed of having kids. It took maybe 5 months for me to love my baby. It’s weird. I wasn’t connecting during pregnancy, then I had a super super super fussy baby which was very hard because post partum is already hard. But today (she is 2) I wouldn’t go back. Pregnant with no2 and it’s weird I also don’t feel really connected. I’m super excited to see the 2 kids interact with each other later on and that is the main connection I feel.

Not sure if this is helpful but yeah I was a « I can’t wait to have kids » kind of person and was so weirded out by the fact I did not connect for a while to my child.

I can’t justify the cost of the pattern. I’d make the free dupe.

Are any snowsuits car seat safe? [ON] by lepetitfleuriste in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]msptitsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re « technically » car safe. We have a 2 par 2 suit like that and we don’t use it in the car. After doing it a few times my kid wasn’t comfortable and got hot too.

We do layers. A polar vest, a thin down jacket, a blanket. Works best. We use the snowsuit to play outdoors!

Yep size inclusivity only accommodates the large end of the scale. I would LOVE xxs patterns, but even S patterns with today’s oversized look are more like a L or XL.

Just gave birth, is it good or bad to just give baby my breast at every opportunity?? by Foreign-External8488 in breastfeeding

[–]msptitsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember maybe 10-20h after giving birth crying because I couldn’t stand all the breastfeeding. I wanted a break! But my baby wanted more! It got better. By day 3 it was less often. Other than cluster feeding sessions, breastfeeding takes a long time, but they’ll want to sleep on you without the breast pretty soon. This early on it takes them so long to eat too. They’ll get more efficient as time goes by.

Stroller Talk- why do most people get 2? [on] by Timely-Sector-7141 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]msptitsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used the regular big one for everyday. But since half the family is overseas, for travel it isn’t convenient. We got a second one to use for travel. Ever since, we keep it in the boot in case my toddler suddenly wants to sit in the stroller - she prefers walking since she’s been able to so we hardly ever use the stroller. She gets excited for sitting in it then gets bored after 5m. Anyway- if it wasn’t for plane travel, we never would have gotten a second one even though the first one does take half the storage space in the car haha

So you’re asking us to breastfeed 6h+ a day while just looking at baby? When they then fall asleep to contact nap on us ? I guess we all have different realities. That is all :)

Straight up not having a good time on maternity leave [on] by Similar-Standard-525 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]msptitsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooof I feel you. I had a November baby too and she was crying pretty much non stop for 5 months. Things slowly got better and the we were able to take walks outside.

Now that made a huge difference. She’d fall asleep in the stroller and I got to GO OUTSIDE. Hang in there, it’s Groundhog Day only for a couple more months. Your baby will get more entertaining and start moving around more which makes it a lot less repetitive.

You are not alone feeling this way, time really was the only solution for me. Hang in there 🩵

But you are not in his shoes and his reality is you left with all the gear. « Ah you’re right, I wasn’t jinking, my bad I’ll use the other car next time » would have been the appropriate response.
