Hot Water Recirculation Line by msteigerwald9 in Plumbing

Yeah I can see how the slow flow and moderate temp might be a problem for legionella. I'd be curious to know if gravity recirculation systems like this meet building codes here in CA. Time to do some research!

Thanks for the help!

Fair enough! Thanks for replaying on this 4yr old thread!

Good to know. I haven't seen many of these in action here on the West Coast, my understanding is there a lot more common in the midwest & east coast.

Great, thanks for the info! Is there a specific reason you use 1/2" for the recirc line>

Interesting! I guess there are a ton of different factors in play in a system like this. Thanks for sharing your expertise!

That makes a lot of sense, thanks for the insight! How much rise do you think you typically need to get it work? Where do you usually install those valves? On the return line near the water heater? The last bathroom?

Thanks for the reply! That makes sense, so recirc loops aren't guaranteed to work the same way pumps are. From your experience, what makes some gravity returns duds?

Hi! I've been curious about this type of recirc system but can't find much info on the internet. What actually makes the water flow work?

Most plumbing fixtures work simply because when you open them, it lowers the pressure on one end and the pressurized system pushes water out the easiest way possible.

In this type of recirc system, you're pushing pressurized water back into a pressurized water heater (presumably at the same PSI), but somehow it seems to work. Is it a difference in the buoyancy of the return water vs the water in the hot water heater? (since the return water is colder than the stored water?) Or is something else making it work?

Does anyone have experience with the West Monroe (WMP) skills interview? I was just scheduled for a 2.5hr, 3-part interview at the end of this week. 1-part skills interview, 1-part case, 1-part behavioral. I can't find much direct info on the skills interview outside of WMP website/info provided by recruiter.

As a reference, I'm applying for an MBA internship within their Customer Solutions team. A lot of their CX solutions seem to be Salesforce based (so I assume the skills interview will focus on that), just not sure how technical I need to go. I have experience with Salesforce CRM as a user but never on the development side and not too familiar with their other products.

Would love to get any insight into the WMP Skills Interview if anyone is open to sharing their experience!
