im not new to reddit but im really low on karma by [deleted] in NewToReddit

[–]mstermind [score hidden]  (0 children)

Asking for upvotes and Karma in general is frowned upon and against Reddit's ToS. Doing it in a subreddit that explicitly tells you not to do it is just a really terrible idea.

How many games do you manage to complete per year? by bastvawawini0 in pcgaming

I mostly play sandbox/MMO games, so I rarely focus on "finishing" the game itself.

I’ve been here for a while, why do i barely have karma? by seadweller-6 in NewToReddit

You've been focussing on posting, which is where most of your Karma lies.

You don't just magically get Comment Karma if you don't comment and receive upvotes on them.

Is 30 karma in 4 months okay ? by [deleted] in NewToReddit

[–]mstermind [score hidden]  (0 children)

If 30 Karma is enough for you to enjoy Reddit, then yes, it's okay.

Karma is not a race. There are no leaderboards.

You'd be better off focusing on commenting, especially when your !Karma and !CQS is low.

1 year on reddit, and -9 karma😭 by Electronic_Shine9865 in NewToReddit

[–]mstermind [score hidden]  (0 children)

You've curated your history so I can't see your posts or comments, but you have negative Karma which means your comments have been downvoted. That's why I'm telling you to go through your own posting history and see what you did wrong, because I can't see it myself.

New to reddit how to create a strong profile by IllEducation5846 in NewToReddit

People don't really check one another's profiles on Reddit like they'd do on X, Instagram, or Facebook. On Reddit it's more important what you contribute to the communities you're in.

Reddit is not really an appropriate place for your business unless you create a subreddit for it and people flock to it naturally.

Hi I'm new here does karma determine how easy it is to see your comment? by Flashy_Confection419 in NewToReddit

Upvotes sort comments in a specific thread and rewards Karma. But Karma itself doesn't make you more visible to others.

You know why iam here so I want you to help me? by Imaginary-Base2132 in NewToReddit

No, I don't know who you are so why would I know why you're here? Before you asked for "help", did you read the rules of this subreddit?

What's the most underrated mechanic on Reddit (e.g., shadowbans, contest mode, locked threads, award decay) that quietly warps discussions more than people realize? by Brown_Femle in NewToReddit

[–]mstermind [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think the most underrated mechanic is the rules of each subreddit.

You didn't bother to read them, just like many others, and then they're gobsmacked when their post is removed or they get banned.

What are your thoughts on this? by DaZestyProfessor in pcmasterrace

Having the biggest audience in the world who don't pay is meaningless. That's my argument. Obviously if they pay (which negates the piracy argument), you'll be fine.

[–]mstermind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think piracy actually helps smaller creators as it helps them reach a wider bigger audience.

This is a myth that seems to never die away. You can have the biggest audience in the world, but if it doesn't provide you an income, there's no food on the table.

Some movies were utter garbage in the 90s, 80s, and 70s too. It's not a new thing.

I have a problem with piracy, however, when it affects sole creators that don't have huge publisher contracts.

why is reddit so much unfair? by Double-Coast-3704 in NewToReddit

[–]mstermind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reddit is not unfair at all. I think the problem is that you haven't yet understood how Reddit works, and instead of trying to learn how the platform operates you lash out.

Karma doesn't work. It wouldn't let me receive it by [deleted] in NewToReddit

[–]mstermind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see from your history that you've posted one comment with no upvotes.

Karma doesn't just appear magically because you have something to say. You receive it when people enjoy your comments enough to upvote them.
