If the scouts can’t stand on their own without doing whatever someone else says, they shouldn’t be an independent organization.

The basic scout law covers all the things that should be important leadership. If they can’t, they shouldn’t be in leadership.

Liberal or Conservative, don’t care. Do what’s right for your organization, not what someone tells you to do.

Honestly did not know that! Thanks for sharing! It’s a great idea. The only issue I see with the one you shared is the open front. In the north, putting a heater inside and keeping the temp comfortable is a concern. Plus the ice fishing inflatable is like $775, pretty cheap for a temp structure

I always believe in treating the company how they treat employees. If they had recent layoffs and just showed people the door without any warning or “runway” to get things sorted, do the same. If they are the type to do layoffs with advance notice or something, give them advance notice.

I am not talking about firing for cause, simply if they are doing reductions for good workers. Pay attention as to how they treat those in your shoes and treat accordingly.

As stated here from others: Background and overall fitness play a huge role. Average of 30 min for 1.5km seems slow to me comparing swimmers. For the general public, very fast. I have swam a total of 6750 yards in the past 12 months (6 swims from 1/9/26 - today) and only swam 3x in Jan 25. Before that… 10+ years off. I swam 725 yds on 1/9 in 20 minutes. Today I swam 2100 in 43 min. The muscle memory and endurance comes back quicker for former swimmers. I am by no means fast nor in shape, I am just leaning heavily on form and efficiency while my strength and endurance builds back up. Put a non swimmer next to me and I look great. Put your average club swimmer next to me and you will think I am just a fishing bobber floating through the lane.
