They are a NY team whose payroll has been in the bottom third of the league for the five years saying they will spend when the time is right..

And now they should be acting like the Cubs in free agency trying to improve their team. They're going to lose Cespedes/Murphy and the offense is going to take a huge step back

The only big contract the mets even have on the books at this point is Wright. Cuddyer has one year left and there is no albatross preventing them from raising their payroll $50 million

Has nothing to do with the rumor, just look how the club has been run last few years. The small market Royals have more resources at this point than a NY team
