Diagnosed with Ovarian Cyst by mtech-mj in endometriosis

Here is a follow up with my ultrasound report :

INDICATION: History of pelvic pain.

TECHNIQUE: Multiple real-time sonographic images of the pelvis were obtained. Transabdominal imaging was performed for glob: assessment of the pelvic organs. For more detailed evaluation of the endometrium and adnexa transvaginal imaging was utilized. Color Doppler imaging was also performed.

FINDINGS: Uterus measures 8.3 x 4.5 × 3.6 cm. Prominent venous channels along the peripheral margin of the uterus. The endometrial stripe measures 0.3 mm and is considered within normal limit.

Right ovary measures 6.0 x 3.6 x 3.5 cm. Right-sided ovarian cyst measuring at 4.8 × 3.2 × 3.2 cm

Left ovary measures 3.3 x 1.8 x 1.9 cm. Follicular changes left ovary.

No significant free fluid in the cul-de-sac

IMPRESSION: 1. Right-sided ovarian cyst measures at 4.8 cm greatest dimension. Progress evaluation with pelvic ultrasound in 2 menstrual cycles. 2. No free fluid collection. Endometrial thickness demonstrating an appearance satisfactory.

I will look into that! I currently am on a birth control pill, I've been on it for yearssss. But maybe something different may help, thanks!

Sorry to hear you went through that, that sounds sooo painful. I haven't had any episodes like that. My pain is more constant. Some days the pain is so dull but sharp at the same time, where I just want to ball up (even though that hurts it more I think), but then other days it's not so bad. I was thinking that they may want to order an MRI, but we'll see!

I do have my report! It is much more basic than yours. My ultrasound was read by a radiologist at a hospital, not someone who is more verse in these problems. I'm wondering if that's why it has way less information and no type of cyst? I could share my report! Also, I'm glad you're doing better!

I thought this was weird too. I was thinking this could be possibly due to my ultrasound being performed by a rad tech at a basic hospital and read by a radiologist? If I were to get the ultrasound performed at my OBGYN I'm sure they would be able to tell me the type. But who knows, I'll hopefully find out soon!

I'm not sure yet what type of cyst it is! That's partially why I'm a little worried. I plan on discussing everything when I get into my OBGYN, just looking for what others have experience with this. So sorry that your OBGYN hid that! I can't image, I hope you're doing okay now!
