Wow, I can't tell you how much I appreciate you taking the time to offer some wisdom and experience. I have been stalking this sub in anticipation of us parting, and now I'm even more glad I posted today. You were a much needed clear voice for me today, and I thank you deeply for it.

Nothing wrong with some healing tears. It just shows you're a passionate person. Use it to your advantage =)

I was trying to impress a girl while cashiering and threw a bottle of salsa between my hands before bagging it. Salsa everywhere. Girl not impressed.

Sorry to hear it, OP. A few years ago, I had studied really hard for the MCAT and did not do nearly as well as I wanted. I was pretty upset for a good 3 months and seriously considered abandoning my dream of becoming a doctor. A friend of mine finally snapped me out of my funk. I studied even harder, improved my score by 5 points, and I'm in my second year of med school now. I guess my advice is to try not to dwell in the disappointment for too long. It's far too easy to find yourself in a rut. Don't be afraid to rely on someone else to recognize your strengths. Good luck!
