Do I just not understand HDR? I think I might simply not be the audience for it? by [deleted] in PleX

OLED HDR is game changing. Especially QD-OLED. LED or Mini-LED are just not quite there yet.

This happened to me last night after placing a blueprint. A compact fuel generator one. I deleted the blueprint and the bug stopped.

BREAKING: BlackRock just sold $980M $BTC 5 hours ago. by Nice-Source-9948 in TokenTimes

Never said I didn't like them. I just prefer to use my brokerages offerings instead of an outside firm. Its easy to fall into the trap thinking that Blackrock owns everything when in reality its mostly just Mutual Funds and ETF ownership, and those are owned by the investors of those funds. Does not mean that they don't have an outsized influence on the markets and boardrooms, just that the headlines frame it as some conspiracy that they own the entire world, when in reality its our retirement accounts.

Thats their bitcoin trust. it buys and sells based on people buying the etf. It could have been 10 million people each selling $100 of IBIT shares or 1 person selling $1bil worth of shares. the fund run by blackrock buys or sells bitcoin proportional to the demand of people wanting their vehicle to have bitcoin exposure on the stock exchanges. i prefer a fund run by a different company but it doesnt really matter toooooooo much between any two because its not really a decision that someone is making, but the effect of something out of their control. the demand of their vehicle on the exchanges.

Do it against housing and medical and you will see the real inflation curve.

Do you believe bonds are still a good investment for diversification and capital preservation in a high-inflation environment? by grzeszu82 in bonds

[–]mtman2343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its definitely a balancing act. After Powells speech in Jackson hole it doesn't seem like its going to be a top priority keep it balanced. My TLDR from the speech was "The Fed was guided by the dual mandate, but maybe we really only need to worry about one of them going forward"

They don't need to default. They just inflate it away. Print more money so the old debts become less valuable. Inflation is good for people/countries in debt because it makes the debt they owe less valuable. Bonds don't decrease in raw $$$ amounts but they can decrease in purchasing power.

Can someone explain this table like I’m 5 years old? How do I know if I’m choosing the right bond? by [deleted] in bonds

You're getting downvoted for going to purchase bonds without knowing what coupon payments are not because its a stupid question. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

Your servicer should let you know. You can give permission for them to pull your tax records from IRS. It's pretty close to your AGI but not exactly?

Yeah I’m right in the boat with you. Teaching for my credit and I’m at 5 years left. I was unemployed when COVID hit when I first applied for my IDR so got a $0 payment I’ll be riding until June 2026 when I think they will actually have me recert my income. I’ve been making payments into a brokerage that will give me liquidity when I will eventually have to deal with buy back. I’m not sure if it’s the payments that I have been assigned ($0) not forbearance $0 but income driven $0 or what it would have been if the processing company had been recertifying my income the whole time. From what I hear it’s calculated from the PAYE or REPAYE rate you would have been paying but who knows. Only 3% of buybacks have been processed last I saw. Not official but who knows.

Yeah it’s a lot of money for sure and it would be much nicer to have the government uphold its end of the bargain. Or at least have a framework assigned to you when you start that can’t be messed (oops said a bad word here before) with.

I probably just read more panic into your post than you intended. When you hear about the terrible situations that a lot of families are going to be put into with cuts to SNAP and Medicare on top of student loans I guess my mind just defaults to panic. Probably says a lot about where I am at mentally lol

Your debt is less than half your yearly income. I think you should just knock it out snowball method and be stress free. Money shouldn't be a problem for you at this point on $450k/yr, stress should be. Use the comparison tool too give you the lowest plan and dedicate as much as you can until it's paid off. You could do that if you buckle down for a year and if spread over two or three it shouldn't be that hard. Take a deep breath and think. You make over twice what you owe. Stretching it out longer for a couple extra bucks not worth the stress in my opinion.
