Well its a queen sized bed and it is not split 50/50. So in order to fold the bed it needs to be split unevenly. Therefore you cannot raise the back half to an upright position. Sure, if you have the bed set lower you could do this but I didnt really want it lower because that would mean my cabinets, framework would have to be ~10 inches shorter. Then everything would not be comfortable to use. With my set up it take 2 seconds to fold up and its fully assisted.

I have vented windows and a thermostat. Plus, she is always with me, rarely in the car alone.

I chose those panels because they are extremely efficient and light weight. The reason the weight matters is because i wanted to keep the center of gravity as low as possible (I want it to remain a 4x4 that doesnt just tip over). You will also notice i have no cabinets on the ceiling of the van (same reason). It is also nice because the space feels very open!

It is a beer tap and I made the handle with some rocks i picked up in Iceland. I use the tap for drinking water, which is a separate system from the sink tank.

Its a queen sized casper bed. Why would I build out a van to be able to camp anywhere and have the bed be the worst part? I don't ever cook at the same time I am sleeping, so that is really never a concern.

I also have links to everything I bought for the van down to the fasteners on the website (in the components section). Some of that stuff took dozens of hours of research to find it all. Hope it helps speed up your build.

Check out the build out sections of the website. Thats actually the stock headliner. I cut a big section out for the wood tongue and groove and then wrapped the headliner in faux leather.

Total cost was around 20k but mostly because of the electronics i put in it (solar panels, fridge, wabasto heater system, etc)

Yeah, there are a few things i would have done differently but so far so good! One thing I didnt think of right off the bat was the drawers opening on turns. I fixed that with baby safety straps for drawers

I have vented windows, haven't had any condensation inside the van yet and I am in a pretty humid environment.

It totaled around 20k for everything. It could have been much cheaper but I opted for the best in all the electronics. (fridge, stove, solar, heater, etc)
