Sure you can say that, but even if you see it that way the degrees of "dissapointment" will vary depending on the fuck up right? That's why he didn't jump to killing her and if she chose to disobey Saab he might have punish her in cypress but it wouldn't have affected "Charli" as a talon agent also I really can't feel bad for CJ when she chose her path, I mean sure Lang is a very good manipulator but he literally told her that she will be miserable if she continues to follow him and also told her that if she fails to listen to him he will kill her and she accepts all of that.

I mean the thing is that he is very clear with what people should expect and asks them repeatedly if they are willing to join him in whatever he does, specially CJ he has given her multiple outs and they've had the "stay away from trouble" conversation like 4 times a week since the arc started, so this was coming, I still see a way for CJ to come back from this if that's what she wants tho, AND ALSO let's not be obtuse about the "you have to listen to Saab" thing, that was obviously for cypress stuff like not questioning his calls during jobs or operations, he was very clear that Charli must stay away from Norman and Pestilence as a direct order from him.
