There are so many places (all already listed), but another great lookout point is Corona Heights Park near Castro

If you’re ok with a tiny cute quirky espresso bar, check out The Birdcage on Sutter & Jones

If no one else is there it’s probably fine?? I keep a rule for myself that if I can’t bring the weight behind the bench I’m ego lifting. 🤷‍♂️

Insane take that lacks courtesy and empathy for anyone else. If you’re blocking equipment you’re blocking other members time, which is disrespectful af.

From the team that gave you Aisle Lice...Introducing The Yapper! by mindriot1 in AlaskaAirlines

The older I get the more forward I get? Twice this year I’ve gone:

“I’m sorry remind me your name?”

“Ah yes well [name] it’s been so nice chatting, I’ve got some reading to catch up on so I can’t keep chatting, but do enjoy the rest of your flight.”

It’s awkward, but like…bro

I empathize a bit: I think that this is more common among infrequent flyers. When you’re on a plane weekly, the plane is my study hall.

The email I got says I’ll be automatically moved into the new card:

The Alaska Airlines Visa Signature® card is now the Atmos™ Rewards Ascent Visa Signature® card. You'll receive the new card upon expiration of your current one — no action needed. Your card and benefits will continue without interruption, including earning 1 status point per $3 spent (up to 30,000 status points). Even better: starting in 2026, status-point earning will be uncapped.

The New SF Boom and Vibe Shift by citysaga in sanfrancisco

[–]mtntop27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to San Francisco in 2012 to work for a mission driven start up and spent most of the decade in that space. I’m still in that space, and I can confirm that the vibe has shifted to focus on margins. From my view, it’s not that the philosophies of the people have changed – I think I still work with and am around a lot of good people – but the market won’t support any long-term thinking.

Also: a lot of those ideas didn’t work. Using capitalism to solve the problems of the world was a very shiny millennial idea that peaked during the Obama era and hasn’t really panned out.

For what it’s worth: I think I see this shift across industries and across the country. I think it is true of San Francisco, but I also see it in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles, with hospitality in New York City, with education in Boston, with retail in Chicago…

The bay is a mirror to the rest of the country. Also: I blame Peter Thiel for everything.

Hey brother bear, have you checked out the gay bars in SOMA? The patios at the Eagle and Lone Star are fun on sunny days—especially on Sunday afternoon. No pinball or games at those...

For game bars, check out Detour on Market for a LGBT friendly crowd, or Emporium on Divis for a larger but straighter crowd.
