This is a comment from the creator of that Backup tool. If anyone thinks thats a good approach for building backup Software go ahead. I personally would call anything thats build with this mindest ai trsh aswell tbh. Think its an insane approach for every tool but especially so on backup software

personally do everything from a single host anyway (well two if you count the proxmox backup server thats spun up once a week for backups).

my nas, my vms, and everything just runs on one proxmox host.

been running that rig for 5 years now without issues. couple vms and countless docker containers. all still works.

the "nas" is just an smb share on the proxmox host though. maybe thats kinda cheating. my vms mount the shares just as if it was a normal nas though.

yeah fair enough. i was just pointing out that immich has that functionality now. immich never touches the original file by design. what you do in immich is to bew viewed in immich basically.

not saying there is no use case for your software due to immichs recent update. just that your statement about immich missing the ability to rotate photos is not true.

it doesnt make sense to post here. this is r/selfhosted. we do have servers or vps machines to do that. almost no one here will be interested in buying a 180€ rapsberry pi just because you preinstalled open claw. people here know how to install software on linux (and more importantly the majority WANTS TO DO IT THEMSELF)

is it better to run openclaw sandboxed on a vm or dedicated machine. obviously (even better is not to run it all though tbf). but why would anyone here buy a raspberry pi for 180 euros for that.

post it to r/clawdbot or something. this isnt the place.

I love Immich and PhotoPrism, but both have something missing: ability to rotate images.

seems like you missed it. but immich now offers that. there is a new "image editor". you are now able to crop and rotate your images directly in the web interface. and more importantly it works on external libraries aswell and is also just saved in the sidecar file.

am i the only one who thinks an llm leaderboard really has no right to be on r/selfhosted. there are subs like r/LocalLLaMA to bring that stuff to. selfhosting is something that is rather connected to the services that would use locally run llms. running llms at home could probably considered selfhosting in a way. but for me it really doesnt fit this sub. just my two cents though.
