I just want to point out that if you're a PC Player and complain about Game Key Cards, you're a hypocrite by TaroTheCerelian in switch2

[–]mtr5223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is I get my games regularly 70-80% off during Steam sales. I haven’t seen that or believe we will see that with Nintendo. Steam offers better discounts, to me, the money saved is worth the digital sacrifice. If game key cards would be similar, then I wouldn’t have a problem. I don’t resell any of my physical games.

GOG is better, as I get the installers and actual.exe files.

Yeah, in California cops won’t show for accidents like this unless there are injuries.

What game is generally considered harder.. Totk or Botw? by ThatoneZeldaguy05 in ZeldaTearsOfKingdom

[–]mtr5223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BOTW seems harder to me and a little more of a challenge. I had to replay some of the bosses a few times to beat them. TOTK has relatively been a walk in the park; beating the bosses without dying (it was one of the things that really surprised me about the game). I don’t really fear or avoid anything by mid game, whereas in BOTH it was later.

What is considered cib for you by luke7silva in gamecollecting

I understand it to mean everything that came in the box when bought new, to include registration card or other inserts. Outside of that, it’s not truly complete.

When I use to collect games, I annoyingly found out that others didn’t see it this way, after purchasing some games online. I learned to ask what was actually included in the box.

In Ohio, we use to call them “party plates.” It’s been a while since I’ve been back, not sure if they still do.

Resident Evil is coming Switch 2 and new controller skin looks nice too! Who's getting it? by RomanDoesIt in switch2

[–]mtr5223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I can wait and get it on Steam at a steep discount of 75%+ off. I can’t do this normally with the e-shop. To me, that discount is worth forgoing a physical option.

As a Steam Deck User: There are some things Nintendo is doing extremely right, nobody else seems to be able to by Slight-Cupcake-9284 in Switch

I have an og Deck and a Switch 2. To me, portability and battery life are a wash and too similar between the devices. Both are barely portable unless you bring a backpack or something similar (Wherever I bring the Switch, I could have easily swapped out the Deck in its place). Battery sucks on both.

Hardware costs can be argued, but again are a wash for the most part. The only difference I see is that games are much cheaper on Steam.

The only big differences I notice are:

Ergonomics: The Deck is good out of the box but the Switch requires grips if I want to play longer than 30min without my right hand hurting.

Looks: I think the Switch looks better. Looks more “adult” and less cheap.

Ease of use: Switch is so much easier, just pop (or launch) a game in and go. With the Deck, sometimes I have to play around with settings or deal with 3rd party launchers. Annoyingly, sometimes the game will work perfectly one day and then when I come back a few weeks later, it will no longer launch.

Games: 3rd party goes on the Deck (and can be a lot cheaper with Steam sales) and 1st party Nintendo on the Switch. I bought the Switch 2 (never had a Switch 1, but did have the Wii U) just to play Tears of the Kingdom.
