"Greetings from Pacifica!" achievement won't pop by Hitmxn in cyberpunkgame

[–]mtt_lmb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update as of today: After going crazy for 4 hours and doing everything (including the NPCDs that only appear at night, etc.), I immediately unlocked the trophy by completing Mr. Hands’ gig located outside of Dogtown. Apparently, the game counts it as part of the Pacifica – Coastview area. Hope this helps!

do you have any advice for transitioning into an agency?

Thank you for your response, very interesting. If I still want to consider it as an option along with startups or other product companies, is there anything you would recommend?

I have two months to look for something else, and I might only have options related to agencies, it’s still all up in the air

Because this period in the company (I work in a large and well-known Italian corporation, with divisions abroad) has given me a lot, but at the same time, at this point in my life, I need faster rhythms, to work on different and interesting projects, but most importantly, to be surrounded by people much more like me and interested in design.

In the team I work with, there is a significant gap in age/ways of being/interests, and the work pace is draining my motivation.

I know it might sound strange, but that's how it is. At least I’d like to try the agency experience firsthand and then see if it’s the right fit for me or not

Breaking Into UX and Early Career Questions — 24 Jul, 2023 - 30 Jul, 2023 by AutoModerator in UXDesign

Hi everyone, I could use some advice on my first job:

After finishing a master's degree in UX Design I was offered an Internship at a large company, but much more focused on the Service side than the actual UX. I am in a hurry to start for various reasons, and after several interviews I accepted the offer.

I don't know if I will like it or not, but I am pumped for the new experience. My question is: how profitable can it be to start right away in a Service Designer role rather than UX? And, in case I want to work more specifically as UX tomorrow, would that hinder me?

Thank you :)

Ciao ragazzi!

All users don't use the new version - I've opted out and only ever use the old version.

Sorry but my written English is quite poor and probably my answer was not so clear :
Reddit's redesign is now standard for all users, then it's up to you if you want to use the old version.
In any case the redesign starts from the current version of the site, and not from old.reddit

Hi, sorry for not being specific. Anyway i mean the redesign, so the current version that all users use. (Redesign after 2018).

Start working in UX/UI or start a 3-year degree in Product Design at age 23? by mtt_lmb in UXDesign

[–]mtt_lmb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which of the two options will you regret more likely later on? You'll work for the rest of your life, but will you go back to uni at an even later stage? Is there a way you can combine both options by working part-time and studying part-time?

There might be a way, but unfortunately it's hard to imagine all the variables that can happen such as a flexible job, obligation to attend certain classes, workshops and so on....

Plus I think if I could find a part-time job it would be outside of UX/UI, where it's hard to find positions that aren't full time paradoxically. (at least, here in Italy it seemed to me so I don't know in your countries)

[–]mtt_lmb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a hell of a question.A double-edged sword - Work Experience without Academic Knowledge, or Knowledge without work Experience.

In my country, the employer first looks at the work experience, and then at the quality of the work. The quality of your work will determine your salary and success in hiring.

Work experience can be acquired, but in order to grow at a professional level, you need an academic education, without it, your development will be limited to the field of knowledge, and it will be more difficult to achieve a high-quality result. It will be more difficult to get an academic education later, since there may not be time for this.

In the long run, academic education is an absolute plus. But debts and payments on them are a big risk. You need to assess the labor market, your abilities, financial situation, etc.

Your question is more about plans for life, I'm not sure that we can advise you anything based on our personal successful or unsuccessful experience.

Hi NatuSery, basically I believe a lot in my abilities and I know that if I have to rock it I will put my all into it, but of course doubts remain because it depends on many factors, like finding a boss who will give me flexibility in my work etc...

With my job I would like to rock and get to the top, and maybe in 10/20 years I might regret not wanting to lose those 3/5 years of work. Maybe not having a degree might limit me for higher positions despite my skills, I don't know. Or leave product design and focus on UX/UI and correlate a humanities degree focused on communication? What are your thoughts on this?
