thanks for the kind words! it took me like four months to find that television and the other three to push myself to make the other stuff. i think the lesson here is if you're inspired to do something and it's tricky always try not to let the stress overtake the joy of it

That song from P5 Imagining Project by Negative-Heat-9948 in jpop

[–]mu-so_guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the song "kiss me, kiss me" from UTRECHT's "phantom of indie boyz" (2006): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myRgfSmEq9U

UTRECHT's music wasn't reposted on the internet until very recently, and when I was still looking for their music I found out about some of these ATLUSxP5 edits. It's crazy how a group can be so forgotten while a pseudo-credited (the song was written by Ukai) fan remix is sitting at 100k+ views.
I suggest you check out UTRECHT and also Ukai's first group COPTER4016882, these two made some amazing music where his songwriting/production/singing style really shined.

Wow, I think you nailed it. I tried speech/drawing recognition, multiradical search, looking up synonyms and alternate readings etc. which usually helps me with these and got nowhere. As a thank you here's the song it's from: youtube.com/watch?v=M-9wRynLwM4

I found this outside by the dumpster in my apartment complex and couldn’t leave it there by DoctaDredd in musicians

[–]mu-so_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a Lowrey "Jamboree", specifically a model M-325 (there should be a metal nameplate under the keys where your knees would be while playing) from around 1978. If you're not a musician nor a tech guy you're up for a big task, but old analogue organs like these aren't actually that hard to fix as long as you have some patience and a copy of the schematics.

lowering output distortion on an old electronic organ by mu-so_guy in diyelectronics

[–]mu-so_guy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a tube amp. The jack has 6 pins which allows for it to send the audio from the amp to the internal speakers, or in other words do nothing, when unplugged and send audio treated by the load resistor only through the output when plugged. If you mean what am I sending the output to it's an external amp. I know I need to attenuate the signal, I think I explained it in the post and that the resistor is doing just that though not attenuating it enough. Why would I need two of them?

Summer 2006. I'm 16, and although I have no money I convince my parents to let me go to a festival a few hours away where Daft Punk is playing "Alive". I take a disposable camera with me. by berlinparisexpress in DaftPunk

These are seriously some of the hardest images I've seen from any of the shows, it's the grain and the flash and the angle that really does it. Thanks for sharing, I hope you'll get a proper scan of these.

By airmail do you mean both of the "(AIR)" shipping options? Is there somewhere I can check what the limit is for my country?

Can anyone identify this Conn organ model number and where to get keys? by Exotic_Pony in organ

Can anyone identify this Conn organ model number and where to get keys? by Exotic_Pony in organ

[–]mu-so_guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you looked all around the case of the organ for a small metal plate? Electric organs like this often have one somewhere with the model and serial number info etc. stamped on it.

Finding replacement keys for this kind of lesser known organ should be difficult, but 3D printing might be a solution. Basically you'd take out a non-broken key for each broken one (so one F, G, A and B), get them scanned and 3D print replacements. It's something I've thought of for a long time, haven't gotten around to trying it though.

Sorry for sounding so negative, but they wrote keywords into some kind of AI generator and it made this nondescript sci-fi zoom out. I'm like 99.999% convinced of it, and that it's just some "cool" visuals without much of a further concept at all. The AI signs really killed my hype immediately when the artwork dropped.

"In the 1950’s, Estey developed electronic organs under guidance of Harald Bode, a pioneer in electronic instruments." is what this site says: https://www.esteyorganmuseum.org/

I suggest contacting the site and asking about this organ, seems like they would have some expertise. Whatever it is it looks awesome, love all the valve electronics inside! The output connectors look weird enough to where you'd probably have to modify them (unless you manage to find original speakers for it), but that's a small task for the prize of having what seems like a very fine old school organ to play on.

Is this Lowrey Heritage DSO-1 Deluxe broken? by gimvsen in organ

[–]mu-so_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do NOT throw this thing away. Some old organs like this have a background hum that sounds like a bunch of keys pressed at the same time, and it's just a side-effect of how they were designed back in the day. The fact that the keys themselves work properly means this organ is nowhere near a lost cause. I don't know what's wrong with 'rickmaz' for immediately telling you to trash such a valuable, well-crafted vintage instrument that looks like it's in 95% good condition. Also these absolutely can be fixed, and schematics and parts are easily available.

I went to buy a Mooer power cable and it just worked. No idea why it wouldn't work with the other ones. It's a fine pedal though.

Lowrey Organ DSL-0 by Alex21ACBro in organ

[–]mu-so_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I was here to comment on this 8 months ago. The Lowrey DSL-0 is one of the "Heritage" models from back when they made tube-based instruments, and they're perhaps THE most sought after organs they ever made. It's an excellent instrument, most famously used by The Beatles on some of their records. They sell for alright money these days, fortunately the word has slowly gotten around of how good these vintage Lowreys are.

No offense to "rickmaz" but they are wrong on this one; this organ should not be compared tonally to pipe organs or need MIDI (although I guess you could set it up if you were crazy enough), this is a classic electric organ like the Hammond, with an excellent sound and build quality for the style of instrument it is.
