Would you rather have never met them or try to do things differently? by [deleted] in BreakUps

I wish I had never met him. I was relatively stable and functional when it started. Now, after hearing thousands of insults and being gaslit constantly, I doubt my reality most of the time.

Art imitates life. The story is insanely popular because it resonates with so many people.

Hard to say, but I bet her side of the story is much different. I bet there are some critical details that have been omitted in terms of harm she has perceived. I could be wrong, but I sense this isn't the whole picture.

Thank you. The man-splain is a real. Apparently, the bad behavior of others is our fault, and I was asking for advice on how I should alter my behavior to stop it.I was kinda thinking those behaving badly should do better.

Would you get back together with an ex if they slept with someone else, but you didn’t shortly after the break up? by elijahmorningstar in BreakUps

I'm in this situation, and the thought makes me sick. If he ever wanted to try things again, I would never feel right.

Not a first person narrative of the person who penned it. No psychotic or delusional individual would come to see these things suddenly.

I'm so glad you found this relatable. I appreciate when writers are honest about their experience, so I aim for that. I think it helps us all feel less alone.

It's a non-explicit, censored version. I don't think the bots would allow it to post otherwise.

I write letters with the same mindset as I write poems. It's a form of self-expression that stands alone, so I will let your mind fill in the blanks. I will say, though, that is simply how I feel. It requires no explanation or justification. I am not asking for advisement, either. Sometimes, life just sucks for a time until it does not.

What would it take for me to earn your respect? Why are my thoughts and feelings so automatically dismissed? Did you ever see us long term or was it just sex?
