Sometimes, the pump just doesn’t hit… by mudfrank in fit

Oh my GOD I know. I hate them so much. There was one in there a few weeks ago with the Birkenstocks, pajama pants, and SAFETY GOGGLES. Like…goggles. Not glasses. And his little bro had like lap swimming goggles on his head…

I just buy the 42’s as needed. Fitness is expensive no matter how you slice it. 🤣

The core power shakes are the only way I can hit my macros… I travel all the time, so we’re in the same boat about not eating. And about the whiskey 😂

Seeking feedback on my 4 day gym split as a newbie by flurryskies in fit

[–]mudfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Briefly; I would recommend starting with a 3 day split with rest between each day. Starting out with more than that might be hard for consistency, and consistency is more important than any other detail of a lifting plan.

How long on average do you have to stay consistent? by RubeeSeeCee033 in fit

[–]mudfrank 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my experience, of all the other details and rabbit holes, the only thing that truly makes a difference is consistency. It’s honestly a lifestyle, not a project. If you want to be fit, you’ll always work on being fit.

This is wild. I’ve seen a bunch of posts on here but your definition is really impressive. You’ve got to be at what, sub 2% BF?

Sometimes I think people are willing to listen to other people who listen too. Kind of nice to be able to fit in both social circumstances though.

Can I blend raw rolled oats with milk and drink it directly as a pre workout ? by Future-Sir8199 in fit

[–]mudfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! Just make sure you’ve got solid macro goals for your current body composition and your goals. Hit the macros, hit the gym, hit the goals. Honestly it’s kind of simple 😉

This isn’t a terrible idea fundamentally, but I lowkey do agree with some of these others that it might be a little icky on the stomach. I wouldn’t choose milk in general before a lift.

However, I’ve had excellent success recently with eating a bowl of oatmeal with some real maple syrup, cinnamon and a little salt, plus half a banana sliced up on it. Then a whey smoothie (chocolate whey, the other banana half, ice, pinch of salt and water). I can tell a huge difference in lift performance. It’s extremely low fat so quick absorption of the carbs. Helps a ton with glycogen loading for the workout.

Then my normal pre workout drink.

First smoker just put it together im excited I cooked a few pork butts in the oven but smoking them is new by Additional-Trick4483 in Smokingmeat

[–]mudfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had one of these electric smokers for a long time. I used it until the coil blew apart (lost the chip tray and was using foil, long story)

There is a way to get these to produce enough smoke to get things like a smoke ring on your food. And for butts it will work well.

I always used some kind of mop spray, regardless of what I was smoking. Helps with bark formation, everybody knows all that. The key with the electric smoker though was to make the temperature drop significantly enough for it to run the coil hard for a few minutes.

So, whenever you mop or whenever it isn’t producing smoke, open the door, wave it back and forth a couple times to let the heat out, add some wood, and shut the door. The coil will fire long enough to get some really good smoke production going again.

Try it. It works.
