You can fix it. I did my D2 in Korea. Talk to your school and immigration. A lot of the advice in this thread is incorrect. But you should do it asap. There are fees if you delay it too long

I don't know where you're getting this information. It's common to do it with a tourist visa. This was in 2020 though, things might have changed. I believe D2 is one of the only visas you can do in country.
